Young players

I bought recently on my level 2 team a 18 years striker( 29 quality). He need one more point to make the six star. But, in spite of he has 18 years he get skill point very hard, like a 26-28 years old players.
The same situation I have at my lv 3 team .I BOUght a 23 year MC 34 quality, But he gets skill poins harder then my 30 years DMC
Can somebody explain me that situation?

Unfortunately, you have bought a slow trainer. A lot of newbies think that only age matters but value matters just as much if not more..

Thank you for the answer. It is right-the 18 years player was cheap.
