What is going on this season?

I am seeing some very strange stuff going on this round.

Teams that I was promoted with last season, who were dominating, are really suffering. One team in particular is rooted to the bottom without a win. I can't see what is wrong with his team, looks much like it did last season when he was really powerful.

One of my teams had a very poor season last time and with little change is floating between 1st and 3rd place, while guys who smashed me are now floundering. I went up in 7th place.

There are many more freak results, too.
