Exclamation My first time posting here

As the title says, my first post.

But I am not new, I have just chosen to emerge from the shadows after reading some amazing stuff yesterday.

Mud slinging, name calling, racism, tantrums, stirring, taking sides, threats, bullying, and much more.

There are some very sad individuals that post on here, I am naming no names, but if you read this and think that ANY of it applies to you, then perhaps you should think about taking a step back and evaluating things.

There are one or two people who spend an unhealthy amount of time on this forum, it has become their little world away from the real world, a place they can dominate and feel important. It makes me wonder what thing is missing in their lives away from their keyboards, in fact I question if they have lives away from their keyboards.

    Enough of my amateur psychology.

I read this forum both for the excellent advice it offers and the amusing banter that is on here. As somebody said recently, the spirit of helping each other is truly wonderful to see. That is why I felt the need to emerge and make this post, what went on here yesterday appalled me. It went against the very essence of this forum.

People are always going to disagree, but for posters to round on a person using phrases like "you are not wanted here" "do one" "I'm going to bully you away from here" etc. is lamentable.

By all means ban people for posting abuse, racism, foul language, breaches of the rules etc. But to try to oust a fellow poster because you don't like what they say???? Democracy people, free speech, the cornerstones of modern society. Not dictatorship and censoring those that don't agree.

    GROW UP.

I too will be evaluating my viewing of this forum. What I saw was ugly, very ugly indeed. Whilst some people should be ashamed of themselves, they probably don't have the ability of self criticism required to see that their behavior was unacceptable. I will no doubt be labelled a troll and receive other abuse, but I am mature enough to take it. I shall be more selective about my viewing of this forum though and I wouldn't be surprised if others leave too.

    Good morning gentlemen and ladies.

    No abuse from me.

    Excellent post.

I think I have been spending a bit too much time here over the last few days.

To the OP ive not seen alot of the stuff your talking about, im pretty sure i know whos at the centre of it though and tbh your post smacks of irony. Saying certain users dont have a life due to how much time they spend on a forum? Lets be honest, you can get this forum on pc, laptop, tablet and mobile phone. I use it at work, commuting to work and in the house and in no way does it affect my life. Most people are probably the same. As for name calling, racism (id like to see this, i doubt its even racist) its a bloody forum, if someone were to call me anything on here it really wouldnt bother me as no one knows anything about me, i think most people are the same.

The amount of time people spend on the game or on the forum is no one's business but their own so i really do not know why these trolls are getting so excited about it, just concentrate on your own life and activity, also as Herdo says in this day and age with different devices they might not be at home on a pc/laptop but at work of travelling somewhere but as I said that is their business!

Herdo, I take a different interpretation from the OP. Perhaps it is because it was something I was actually thinking myself.

I don't criticize anybody for the time they spend on here, as you rightly say, that is something they choose and a reflection of the modern age with multiple forms of access.

But, I think that perhaps they get too deeply involved and it becomes personal.

I've just looked back over some of the things from yesterday and much of it has been deleted. I view that as positive, at least they know that they crossed the line. I found some of it offensive and it wasn't even aimed at me!

First off, no, this is not a proper way to address your concerns with yesterday's behavior. If you would like a forum environment which does not include name calling and behavior you disagree with, then do not promote such behavior yourself. This thread is just as bad mudslinging as you are passing judgement on and taking a holier-than-thou approach to it does not exempt you.

Yes, things got heated yesterday. It tends to happen on any forum. It does not make it OK. Hopefully, people will cool down and move on. My advice is that whenever you feel like posting something that might sound offensive or be taken the wrong way is to move away from the keyboard for 10 minutes and then come back with a clear mind. You'd be surprised at how perspectives can change.

I do not usually tend to disclose moderation decisions, but to avoid any unnecessary speculation, the OP was not banned for making this thread, but for being a duplicate account of another member. The original account got a temporary ban for this.
