Defenders as best players

I have good defenders but some of them are just attacking. My DLs and DRs sometimes make all of the goals... I also have great DMCs but they are better defenders than actual defenders?! Can someone explain this?

Did you use the arrow of attack on the DL/DR players?
Maybe they are in better shape and have better attacking skills then the rest of your players.
Your orders are attack from sides or middle?

No arrows and i attack on sides. But i havent trained their attack skills at all. They should be bad attackers, but still they are better than my midfielders. But when i attack middle its still my DL and DR.

I dont have a good answer for you but my advise is to keep them and find new MC/ST to improve your team.
