Julio Quatro 3-1 Thai Team Champions League Final
Julio Quatro win 6th Champions League Title and retain the treble.
Julio Quatro played against Thai Team in this seasons champions league final, the real identity or club name is unknown since they are in thai text so we just refer them here as "Thai Team" Expectations were on Julio Quatro to win and win this final well, but it was Thai Team that forced the first attack on the game with a counter attack break from Ben McEntree who got in behind the defense and give the underdogs the start they needed to have any chance, However Julio Quatro responded and for the next hallf an hour we played some of our best football, Zidane missed a great opportunity but Phil McNamara didn't miss his chance and he beat the goalkeeper from 20 metres, Kevin Mensah had a free kick saved moments later then he chipped the goalkeeper moments later to give Julio Quatro the lead, L.McNamara shot on goal was saved and put out for a corner and Novotny crossed in and Vasko headed it in for 3-1, A couple of Thai Team players picked up yellows and the dealt with Mensah's free kicks very well.
The second half was a bit of a anti-climax though, with Julio Quatro seeing the game out more than anything, Papaleo didn't see too much of goal as a lone striker and most of the play remained in midfield, every time Thai Team got forward to create chances It was either Vasko or Novotny that cleared their chances away so they didn't look like they would threaten the goal. Our best chance was a Mensah free-kick, but we were in control so scoring didn't really matter.
The win brings out the champagne and celebrations around North London for all Julio Quatro fans as Islington Park was filled to the max with our fans watching the game on wide screens around our stadium. L.McNamara captain for the last 2 seasons of the club decided to let go on the 'captaincy' to concerntrate on team management and playing career and handed Stacey Papaleo the captaincy for the next few seasons and also allowed Papaleo to take the honours of lifting our Champions League trophy despite not having the best of games today, Papaleo was vital in our 2-1 cup win yesterday.
