    My Champions League Knockout opponent

So i won my group in the CL and i face Andre Luiz FC in the first round of the knockout stages.

    this is his formation/players

as a counter formation i was thinking 3N-2W-2-1-2 through the middle on attacking (Since i'm away first match)

    -------GK--------
    ----DC-DC-DC---
    DR-------------DL
    ----CM-----CM----
    ------ AMC -------
    ---- ST --- ST----

    Overview shot:

I think your D are going to get shelled, maybe have a DMC to help them? But that's me, also I wouldn't red arrow, but maybe someone more knowledgeable could give advice?
Expressed above is my own opinion. Your results may vary.

Your defensive option sounds alright, as all of your opponents should be covered. But for your attackers, you've pretty much marked them up against your opponents defenders. I'd say run 2x MC then go for a AML AMR with 1x striker. Set your passing to down both flanks.

Then during the match, if it looks like your possession is fine, maybe swap one of your MCs to an extra ST instead.

I'm relatively new to Top11 though, so take my suggestions with a pinch of salt :-P

That's a relatively good idea tbh. I'm going to try my formation for tomorrow's league match, though i'm playing a much weaker side, i expect to win by a big margin and keep a clean sheet. Unless i get better suggestions, i will try your idea on a friendly or next league match before the CL game.

That would get Tansey on the field, he looks like a good player

you need a DMC to stop his AMC ... I think for this 4-4-2ND or 4-1-3n-2 will work ...

Ur passing down the middle option is correct, don't pass down the flanks... How come u have no special abilities??? I always keep hard attacking on away knockout matches to score more goals. It does effect the condition though. Keep tackling normal as he seems to have a quite impressive free kick specialist and u have no defensive wall. So if u concede a free kick, he may end up scoring. Keep zonal marking and mixed passing to keep up possession. All the best and tell the results!!!v

So i played with 3N-2W-2-2-1 as SlyAnimal suggested and it worked out great! I tried the 3N-2W-2-1-2 and i only won 3-0 against a weak team as my striker under preformed so i opted for a 1 striker and my two great AML and AMR players.

    the result:

I did have a defensive wall player playing but i subbed him out as his FK taker was preforming poorly.

you only have 2 defenders and correct me is this a legal formation?

edit: my mistake, you play with 3 defenders. and good result.
