It's a very small slice of the player base. I think that even if you took a dim view and said half the number of players was bots, it's still a tiny number.
I think what is important is the actual number of active accounts. It is hardly close to the number posted on the website. If you look at the percentage of bot teams in each league, and add in the inactive players, I would easily say that 50% of the teams are bots or lazy managed teams (teams that the manager logs into occasionally or plays half-heartedly).
What does that say about the game? Managers lose interest too easily because of the nature of the game and/or the results. It just proves that they make it easy at the start to get you hooked and hope you spend the money to make an investment, because we all hate to lose money.
I don't think I've had more than 6 active managers in my league in any of the seasons I've played.
Where does this 6174 figure come from?
I'm fairly new & still learning...
In a nutshell WHAT ARE THE FLAWS?
There has to be some randomness in the results...same as in real life
