Strong young player training at low speed

Hi there I have a concern about a new MC I acquired recently.
It's almost 5 star (24 quality when most of my players are around 17-22) and he has 18 years, but it trains at the speed of a player of 23-24 years.
My other players of 18-19 years train at double of his speed, I can't understand why it's like that.
It's simply the player bad at training (i know that sometimes happens) or he is slow because he's simply too strong compared to my other players?
I'm asking because i need to know if it's worth keeping him.

Not all 18 year olds are fast trainers. Some are very slow and that's just how the game is.

The market value of a player indicates a players potential, i.e. if two youngsters have the same quality but different market values, then the one with the higher market value will be a better trainer.

Well, if he has good Q for now & you didn't pay a ton, not a bad lesson! Sounds like you could use him and sell him off at the season end.
Some of the slow youngsters are basically the "free" youth from levels above, they will be the "ducks". The value compared to others is the best gauge of train speed, for sure there is no exact way to tell, until you get them, but avoid the too good to be true price.

Expressed above is my own opinion. Your results may vary.
