    Saving skill points

Forgive my blissful ignorance, but what is the point in saving skill points? I know about the getting lesser quality of teams in the cup but this is not what I am talking about

I do not see the point either! - In-fact i hate talking to people that are only playing the game to try and beat easier opponents! Its a game and where is the fun in that!

From what I hear it's mostly done by people who look at their opponents' qualities in the league at the start of the season and are not sure if they're able to place in the top 4. If they think they are not able to, they will tank the season and save up their skill-points till they see an opportunity to win?

Never done so before, so not really sure if this is accurate.

The point is just to have an easier draw, both in league and cup. You may claim it is stupid to do so in league, as battling stronger teams will add up to the fun, but there's no fun getting beaten on the cup because no matter how good you are the game will still pair you with stronger teams, resorting to teams above your level.

Some people might save skill points on particular players, ones that train fast, maybe they want to wait to decide if it should be a SA or just towards next *.
.. or to wait because they want to maintain that player at the * level they are currently, for the next season (I save points on a couple of my older guys for this)

Apparently their contracts are cheaper if you wait til after re-sign to apply points, too.. but I have not tried that, it might be worthwhile as the wages of players can be really high.

Expressed above is my own opinion. Your results may vary.

The contract point is true as if the player gains a star or quality, they demand more, I have noticed that and even fallen prey to paying about 50 K a season more to 4-5 players.

Yeah, the contract renewal point is a good one too. You pay a bigger renewal fee as well as salary if the quality of the player is higher.

I wasn't aware that having low quality will put you in a lower level league. I always noticed (or perhaps assumed) that having high quality actually put you in a league with slightly lower quality players i.e. you being the best will put you in the 'number 1' spot. Someone similar would be put in a different league.

Either this or the champion's all got placed in different leagues, number 2s in different leagues up until number 7s etc.

At least I have never noticed that I was put in a league full of players of the same quality.

Then become a better manager. You can beat stronger opponents by adjusting tactics. I love a challenge and actually find it exciting to get drawn against opponents above my level. It would be like playing FIFA on Amateur for the rest of your life!

as Cat says i have at 14 player`s to renew with contract`s which would cost me around £100+ million but i can save at least 1/4 of that if i renew in new season and when added skill on their value will go back up
