is tanking=cheating?

ok I stopped playing the game since about 7 months now bcz of Nordeus behavior and bcz of work relocation which left me no time, just for fun created a new team, but was surprised to see some of my real life friends are behind calculation wise from where they should be level wise , and when I asked them , they told me that they had started to tank their teams once every 2 seasons since moving to level 9 (which enabled them to get 5-6 points higher average wise between each level) .. so although if you check their trophy cabinet , it seem they win the title comfortably every season, they actually struggled in the many seasons to be even in top 4 and thus decided to tank it in middle of the season or even earlier once they noticed that the opposition teams are way stronger.
now am interested to know what is your opinion here.. same argued that they had no offers in their countries or some said they don't want to spend real money for a stupid game which is supposed to be for fun, so tanking for them was the best option to be competive enough , and for them, it is not that different from buying success by spending real money .. am not sure really here as something don't fit... more when you see some of my friends bragging about how good they are and how they keep wining titles when they actually tanked a full season, something don't fit here?..why suddenly finishing 2nd or fighting for top4 is not good enough?

Exactly. Do everything you can to win. So actually try to win with good managing skills, not giving up and throwing all your games so you can roll over everyone in the next season.

If that is the case, then why do people buy Tokens??? To roll over other teams, right???? There is no other reason I can see???? Tanking is another way to do this.
Even token buyers should then be told to win with managing skills not better teams..........

Yes but when players buy tokens to get scouts or bid for players they're at least trying to win. When you tank you've just given up. And some tankers buy tokens any ways so they can power train up they're players for next season while they tank. I see the logic of tanking, but I look down on it. I dislike the idea of people losing on purpose.

I can't say that I don't agree with you but if you don't have any chance also you don't have a lot of time to make some tokens or to search for players why you should fight for 6,7 place?

Why shouldn't you fight to proceed to the next level? If you're team isn't good enough to make the top 7, then it won't make the top 7 and you'll have to remain on the same level, but you'll be able to do it the right way, and you'll become competitive again because of it.

for the same reasons why fans stands behind their teams even when they are bottom half of table kind of clubs
people tend to call fans who are in it for the glory a glory hunter, why see that any different?
somehow in between, some had lost their love of football as an entertaining sport , ok your team lose, it $ucks, but ok it was an incredible match.. or may be am to idealistic ?
IN UK, I admire the fans alot who stands by and support their clubs even when they are in far inferior leagues .. they are here not bcz their clubs are winning, but bcz of love of football, the joy of winning, the soreness of losing, the amazing success story when finishing above far stronger side in the league and giving them a run for their money .. where all that has gone?

Exactly!! do "everything", like me, for example that waste tokens to put the matches when the other team is sleeping, to play alone and win more easy

that's cheating? no. thats "strategy". (^-^) like in the comand and conquer. like in the war.. you can attack in the day.. or in the night... with a gun... or a bazooka
