The most important thing: Find out great Form Players (individually n' team-work) as well as the right form n tactic. This bring you goals and victories.
A better team with higher quality, feed-up full morale and other things just come second priority. Especially I don't see possession much effective in this game. Possession only make you FEEL good, in-control :)
