Letting your players contract run down

So my best player’s contract is in his last year and has been with me since the beginning.

He asked for a massive wage hike and I was wondering whether I should leave giving him a new contract until the start of next season to get another year on the contract.

The question is would there be a risk of him being snapped up on a free if I let his contract run out? I intend to renew his contract on the first day of the season but might not be able to do it right away in the first few hours.

yes, you have 7 days at the start of the season to sign players out of contract. I wait until the first day of the season to sign the players OOC as they are up to 15% less in cost to renew the contracts. Just make sure you sign them before the first game or the NGE will sub in players over the age of 33 or possibly default the game - not sure which would happen as I dont have any experience letting it happen and of course, Nordeus is ****ty at providing information about their own game...

Really? I would think a MOD with experience in many threads on this site to give accurate information regarding this game. Sorry, but HORRIBLE advice. Leave it to the professionals next time.

Thanks . I always feared losing player at change of season .ie day 1 minute 1 he would be lost.
I now have 7 days after chnge to renew, based on a lower rate.

If a players contract is up at the end of the season, do you then have 7 days to renew the contract next season?
