In my experience, the ratings a player gets, make the difference, not the ability.
Try and look at the ratings of the player you want to buy, before you buy him.
If it's not possible(he hasn't played this season/ he's 18yo from academy), play his a couple of games, if he gets 4's & 5's, he sux and i usualy sell them right away.
