Create chances

Okay, this is weird. I've played now 3 matches, where my players in average were 1 star better than the opposing team. However it is really difficult for my team to create enough chances. In my past games I've created about 25-50 % less chances than my opposing team, and my ball possesion is also about equal as my opponent.

I'm playing 4-3-1-2 where I attack from mixed, normal mentality, press on my own half. The normal settings. I've tried to change to 4-3-3 but it didn't work.

The opposing teams were playing 4-1-2-2-1 with attacking midfielders on the wings.

So how can this happen, and how should I play in order to create chances?

I took care that all my players had superb moral and superb condition.
