    Cool Formation

Interested to know everyones thoughts, whats the best formation out there?

Do you guys often change your formation or pick one and go with it?

I was previously using 3-1-3-1-3 but wasn't scoring at all, there was also gaps in my defence...

So I reverted to 4-3-1-2 and since then only conceded 4 goals in league and scored over 35... I also fixed the gaps in my defence so the formation is much more balanced.

Heres my current review of Top Eleven, Once I do some more research and trial and error I'm going to do another article on Formations and Tactics so please let me know your thoughts:

There is no "best formation out there" just ones that work for you and some will change to counter their opponent, like play wingers if the other team plays with no full backs or use DMC if opponent uses AMC.

Curious about your 3-1-3-1-3, is that narrow as in 3x DC 1x DMC 3x MC 1x AMC 3x ST?

If so that is an illegal formation and would be the reason you was losing constantly, I found this out the hard way myself.

Butterfly is good against most formations that have less than 3 strikers. I use that and I rotate with 4-3-2-1/4-5-1 V/3-5-2 V depending on my opponent. Conceded 1 goal in the league so far using that strategy.

Formations, Well probably due to my teamusually being stronger than opponents, I don't really need to change tactics much, so I leave my team mostly in classic 4-4-2, possibly down to the players that have been available from the scout, Never seem to see a good AMC or DMC that meets my scout buy criteria for age/quality. But, when qualities come closer to mine or higher than mine then I do have to give the game a bit of thought on what my opponents doing, If there quite defensive, then I will want to use an attacking formation. If they are quite attacking, then sometimes I can be on the defensive or setup for counter attacks.

I faced 4-1-4-1 opponent stronger by 8 quality in the cup semis last season, at home played 3-5-2 but lost 2-1
2nd leg away I started 4-3-3 was losing 2-1 and then went 3-4-3 attacking and won 3-2 and went through on away goals.
Final faced 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond opponent stronger by 2 quality and played 4-1-3W-2, draw 1-1 but won on penalties.

So with the cup ties vs stronger opposition last season, tactics can certainly play a big part in Top Eleven.

3-1-3-1-3 is 11 players, did you have no goalkeeper?

On FIFA, I leave the default formation that my team is using to preserve their style. Usually United.
