your player probably didn't play long in the match. For instance, if I sub player A by player B at 80 minute, player B will get a rating of zero.

Yeah, I've had it a few times when a player has been subbed after a few mins (if the game starts and I notice I have a player out of position for example), or if I put a player on in the last 5 mins to claim the sub reward.

Never had a Zero for a player who has played more than half a game I don't think.

A player needs to play for at least 20 minutes for the appearance to count and be given a rating.

Ahhhh ok thank you for replies --- I subbed him after 16 minutes

Funnily enough won the game 8-0 the fella in question was my best centre half and as friendly subbed to rest --- both his centre halves scored 8 and 9 ... Not bad ratings wen responsible for conceding 8 goals 😝😜😜😜
