Young CD with Playmaker Special Talent

    Hello,

I'm a Newbie and I've got one particularly talented player. He's a CD/LB - But has a Playmaker special ability.

He's skill level 19 - which IMO is high for Level 1 - and I know if he goes up 1 more skill and hence a star level that his training progress will reduce slightly.

Now my question is this - Is it worth putting my effort into training him as a CM or DM? Is his playmaker special trait worth the focus of adding a position? I could either use the 50 SPs and have a 22 Level CD with a playmaker trait - a bit weird... Or a 19 skill Midfielder (DM or CM - which would you chose)?

*Please note that I can't afford to power train as I can't realistically budget buying fictional tokens and token offers are limited in my country.

    So - opinions please...

DI presume you mean DC,/DL and so train him to get your point needed for your star don't bother training a new position it takes to long if your not spending.

This would be a matter of personal taste. I usually don't bother wasting skill points on getting new roles or skills, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't, if the circumstance arose.

When I was in the lower levels, I once got a youth striker who was very fast learner. He leapt from 4* to almost 6 in the first season. Because he was gaining points at such a fast rate, I started adding them to learn another role (AMR). It took less than two weeks for him to achieve the points. Now there are rarely any ST who have a second role, so when the time came for him to leave (after 7 seasons), the transfer auction went mad, and I eventually got more than 3 times what he was valued at on a bidding war that went over 50 rounds.

I did it with a midfielder and trained a SA ,free kick specialist but by the time I got to L2 and he dropped a star I could get better players without a SA for less so I have never bothered since.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm going to level him up to 19.8 (1 point of 20 and a star jump.)
I will store his skill points after that and see how long it takes him to reach 50. If he does reach 50 comfortably by the end of the season I will give him a new role.. If not then at the very least he will learn his skills faster because he's only level for and not 5. Plus as the one poster mentioned - versatile players are sought after. So - Worst case scenario I have a young 20 Skill DC, DL and DMC at the end of the season.
