Can't sell MF!

I've been trying to sell a 23 year old DMC (5* at level 9) for over half a season now as his form has been shocking for a while. His value is pretty decent when compared with similar aged players. I must've transfer listed him 50 times, with lowest possible value and at various times and days of the week with no success! I guess this relates to the crapness of the new transfer market and him only being able to play one position, but my question is this - his contract runs out at the end of the season, should I renew it them hope to sell him early in the new season or cut my losses and let him go? Don't really want to see 10m walk out the door!

Actually there are more like 80 players so perhaps I'm not on the new market...does this mean my server is likely to switch to the new market and it'll be even harder to sell him next season?!
