WoW! Cant believe this opportunist buy...

Logged into transfer market and saw this player with 7 mins of auction time remaining. Someone (must be a rich bloke) just sacked this 25yo ST worth $104m with a SA at a quality of 113. Bid in 1 token and no one else bidded. Can't believe this opportunist buy as I just need to pay his wage of 10.2m. Will probably sell him off at least $100m next season :p

Anyone else had such opportunist buys before? Cheers!

Yeah sure, this happens at least once a season for me. The best one was I think some GK that I didn't even need but bought him for like 10k and sold for +600k.

Lucky you... I'm curious what his performance stats will be.
I once had a lucky bid, but it was in now way so speactacular. I was broke, with only one token left and in need of an MC for that day's match. There was one abandoned player, Arsenio Valpoort, 32 yo, 4 stars. Nobody wanted that old freelancer, so I bought him almost for free and 1 T only. For the 1,5 seasons I had him he was the best player in my team, managing the youngsters like a hurricane. I was heartbroken when I finally let him go... and as a last present he gave me the Retirement achievement, which I had no idea about then. His statistics were always better than those younger player's, and he was always on top in assisting, scoring and form in the whole league. I wish I could get such a player again...

he`s not been sacked at that price, more likely team been abandoned and his contract ran out, so you only paying wages but still nice profit when sell

I had some one token buys before but none like a 104 millions' free agent. Never seen. That's a huge profit when you sell him. Very nice.

No I dont think he ran out of contract as its not the new season yet (and neither is it the start of current season). He is a free agent because his contract was terminated for reasons I dont know. Perhaps he was caught for spitting at his manager or players? Nasty habit, I know.

@ Anna. I think he is not a bad player to train, even as the age of 25. But I guess I will never get to check out his performance as he still 3 stars below my team average. But who knows...with only 5 games left for this season, my main ST might get injured.

Well a few seasons ago i was bankrupt with money,had only 10m at level 17 so i started buying and selling free agents.. made maximum money in 20 days.. one player i sold for about 300m 22yr old one-on-one and 1Q away from next star .. Dont remember if i bought him for 1T only but it was the greatest deal :D

dan1daking, I also use this trick when I'm short of cash :)
My point was that sometimes you can get a real gem in such free agent auctions, like my player was. I only bought him as a literally last minute one-time replacement and he turned out to be my best player ever, much better than the one I needed replacement for :)
As his name was Valpoort, I nicknamed him Lord Voldemort and it was kind of true, because all opponents seemed to fall under some kind of curse when playing against him :) And as soon as I let him go for retirement, my good luck in this game ended. Oh, Voldemort, please come back!! :(

Another bargain buy this season. 2 tokens to sign a free agent at 25yo with SA. Paid 10.6m as wages and sold for 107m; a nice profit of 96.4m. The previous bargain bid sold for 100m. :p
