I've just finished a final match of the cup with a super strong opponent. It was pretty surprising but I've won... Let's show in more details:
My team:
Manager level:2
Quality of team: 22,4 (4 and 5 stars players,4 special abilities)
Stadium capacity: 1000
Opponent's team:
Manager level:2
Quality of team: 27,7 (5 and 6 stars players,10 special abilities)
Stadium capacity: 43000
My formation 4-5-1 V

Final score 2:1
Total shots: 12:11

And Sometimes formation is important But sometimes Troll stood up other side when they are stronger but simply bad luck.. No matter what they do...Not meant the weak team is better or his strategy is good..
If you all the way to Final beat all stronger and better quality or higher level opponents in CUP then your formation is vital...

Congrats for win. It's achievement to win such a match, especially it is a final. But the rating difference is not really large so the result is not surprising.
To all who are saying that the quality difference is not big :
1) A quality difference of 5.3 star is a significantly big difference at level 2...
2) It like a 4 star beating a 5 star team...
3) Plus I am 100% sure that the quality difference of starting 11 of his opponent would be even more big than 5.3...:D...

As I remember, at level 2, even strong teams may have many weaknesses in some positions because of lack of tokens and MONEY (cash flow is poor at that time, and less young players to sell).
