ideal amount of plaYERS in your squad

ok a serious question ( for once) lol

what is the ideal amount of players in your squad ?? I have a starting 11 and 5 subs ??? I dont need any more at the moment !! consider wages for sitting on the bench CL and Cups etc rotation etc , cover for red cards injuries ????

Last season I had 6 injured players + few of them healed immediately after injury. I barely managed to have some fresh reserves with 2 matches per day, spent all red and green packs. So much problems for 22 squad, couldn't believe that can happen....
As I have commented on another thread, 22 players are good because they enable you to use different formations, sub bad form/injured/suspended players, keep important players fresh for important matches.
I wonder what opponent thinks about my team when he faces full squad of equal/similar quallity players on every position... I'm hard opponent even for token buyers.

a very good strategy hun , I have heard the more players in your squad the more injuries one gets though ??? carnt find the thread it was a while back . I have had only 1 injury this season with my small squad, maybe there is some truth in it ????

I don't know, there are periods of no or very low number of injuries and periods of every day injuries.
I had every season 22 players so I can't compare from personal experience.
Injuries aren't main reason why I have so much players, It is because I like to use various tactics and formations. I like to suprise opponent.
Maybe I will start using asymetric formations :p just to annoy opps.

I had - day 20/28 - 7 in matches and 4 in training. My players always at dark geen bar so except from 1 injury of 6 days the others was < 3 days (but I'm training a lot).
I use 20 good players from 4* to 6* with rotation (but I'm at low levels so I don't have problems with wages).

i have 22 player`s BUT stick with 15/16 player`s for 1st team the other 6/7 i use for friendlies so can train too 1 skill away from next star so i can sell on neg list for more than i paid which easily covers wages

Minimum 16 player and maximum 18 players,because not all the players will play often,and with lower squad,save some money for a good player....YOU dont need to use many formations (against opponen),because the formation doesnt count very much.Choose 4-4-2,4-3-3 or something like that,because you re waisting your time with changing daily formation...The decision is yours...

I use nordgens to save money, they are good long-term option. Once I buy nordgen, I use him for 3 or more seasons. Before I need to buy new nordgen, I have enough time to earn lot of money through league, cup and CL. Besides that, their price rises fast as well as quallity, so I can still earn on their selling.
Of course, my squad isn't full of nordgens, but I have enough of them. That is just me, everyone has own strategy of playing this game.

I have 20 players. I try to have 14 players that are interchangeable in starting 11 without noticing any difference. The others play now and again but usually just cover for suspensions or subs to keep condition up on players I want to play again. And they're usually ex-1st team or panic buys..

My core 14 players usually comprises players for 4-5-1V + ST, MC and DC/X - although its developed that way rather than being some grand plan. ;)

22 for formation purposes, the more formations you can play the more wins you will have, simple.

There is a price to be paid for a 22 player roster, but the advantages in injuries, flexibility and durability is worth it.

Usually I had 11 +11... I really like to have 2 teams but since some seasons... no 2nd GK... and this season 1 ST less... 1 defense less... that I need...
Too I think that for my strategy, that I use usually, that is play for league and CL, without worry for the Cup... I have to save some space maybe for a possible option to win the treble... adding a new playr or 2 at the end of season like I did the 2 last times that I fighted for the Cup...

At the end during 2 consecutive seasons I went on semifinals of Cups that had teams wih +3 +4 levels than me in the round of 16.....
so I really think is a good strategy and can not do more lol

No surprise I think 22, or on no money Team 21 (maybe one GK only) to leave a spot for Youth and FAs to generate $$. :D

I have 21 players on my roster and the free youth for a total of 22.

Everyone plays everyday since I always play 3 games a day. If the player doesn't appear in the league/cup/champions league game, he plays in the friendly.

My squad:
3 ST
1 AML/AMC
1 AMR/AMC
1 ML/DML
1 MR/DMR
4 MC
2 DC/DMC
3 DR/DC
3 DL/DC
2 GK

That allows me to play every formation and to have a sub for every position (since I count players who have a yellow caution as a good sub)

Depending your tactics, style, personal preference, and versatility of your players, everyone should has different answers I like having full squad of 22. If some of my players are versatile, I may reduce the no. of players. Sometimes I also hold a young player or FA temporarily.

But if my team was eliminated early in the season, I like reducing 2 to 4 players, or hold more young players.

My favourite 22 combinations:

I always maintain a squad of 22...

I used to have 22 players but I think it is not worth it. The amount of injuries is definitely bigger (many times 3-4 players injured at the same time), players get demoralized more often, and many times I just want to use the same guys so they get better and better and I don't need to worry about training and so on.

I think the best is 15 (if 2 competition) or 18 players (if 1 competition). If there is a key player which is injured I heal him or I change to a different formation (if ML/MC/MC/MR and ML gets injured, I switched to MC/MC/AML/AMC), if one player is tired and I want to maintain him in the next match, green pack.

My team is very versatile, with many players playing in different positions. A team of 17 would be:

I have only 1 player is my team his name is Kurwa...He is alone enough for all...Since he performs some daily regular exercises to win things...:D...

Has to be 22 for me, I have two players for every position, I call it my A and B teams, this allows me to play my best team for the league and the weaker team in the CL league stages plus it means I always have cover for injuries.

Mo you should have added poll to this thread, that'd be easier...

yea... 20-22 players, I usually play several games on one day and I prefer it to training. injuris come and go, tactics changes... and all those things doesnt bother me.

I only need 18, but the game won't let me sell the remaining.

Won't let you? Could be a glitch? I haven't tried in a very long time but the smallest squad I have had is 14, about a dozen seasons ago.
