Why am I losing matches when my team is better?

I'm asking bc my next match is against 4-5-1 flat player, and according to the GUIDE 3-5-2 is advisable. But I don't have 3 MC, so I'm playing with LM,RM,LAM & 2 MC! Hope it works :/
