When the Team Constantly under-deliver...

Hi Folks.
I am honestly starting to get tired of the game. Maybe someone here can get me to find the spark again. How? Well, lets see if there is a solution on this..

I was for the first 7 season unstoppable. Won the league and Champions almost all the time. Then something changed.
I had the best team, youngest team, most valuable team etc.. but i started to lose alot of games. Games that i should have won easily. I didnt even placed top 7, so i had another season in that division. Now i was even better, and had by far the best team, and they were used to play together for a whole season. I still didnt win the games i should have won. Frustrating. I ended up 3rd, and are now on lvl 9. And the problems continues. I am better than my opponents, but i cant pull a win when i should. Both Champions and league. (Cup has been a mystery too, but in a way that i have NEVER had other than teams from higher divisions to compete against).
So i wonder, where is the problems, what is wrong with my team? They can slaughter the opponents one game, and the next game all my players under-deliver. From 7 to 9´s in ratings, to 4 to 6 in the next game. That never happened before.

Before you come with your suggestion, please understand that i know more than average in this game... (but obviously not all of it lol)

I have a very young team. Is that the reason? No routine?
They have played together alot of games. New players are starting slowly to fit into the team by training matches, substitutes etc.. (too many new players in a match results in a very hard chance to score, i know)
I check the opponents Team formations, and i have 2 formations that i can alter with, and i use the one that should "win".
My players are in a good mood.
My players are in good condition
My players are rested.
My players are used to the specific postition.
My players are all of them dating a supermodel (this was a joke)
My team gets bonuses for wins
My team always has more possession of the ball
I play offensive style, through the middle, short passes, press on my own half/whole pitch, no counter attacks, no offside.
... i think i have checked it all. But i must miss something.

Anyone have any ideas?

I forgot to say, that if you are just a moron with stupid ideas, dont bother to answer.

Game wise
I find that mixing 28-33 year olds with young'uns (18-22) a good mix - 50-50%

Game-logic wise
Lvl1-4 I won back to back leagues (including 26-0-0). Lvl5 I started to get trolled. Also at your level, there are many more active managers compared to lower levels where you meet bots more often than not. They make it easy in the lower levels also because it is to get u hooked.

After 7 unstoppable season, you are due a lot of troll results. So bear with it. We all need to get trolled.

I had the same prob but also some other factors so i retired team and took over a new level one team and am having fun

Perhaps try changing your formation? Use your best 10 rated players in their preffered positions (if they are DC/DR, then use DC since its the first position@the preffered position). Usually it would be easy to spot the weaker rated player, try swapping him out for another player. Its all experimental! We live and we learn, season to season. And like what Qambu Yaasi said, earlier seasons are easily won, as you go higher, there are more competitive teams/managers. I was once in a season where all top 7 league manager were token buyers, and all had well skilled and rated players. Although no gold for me that season, but I know from then, the future seasons will be tougher!

The main problem is that it is easy to smurf at low levels and win everything but at the higher level everyone are strong, as such winning is much harder.

Out of 64 people playing the game, 63 don't reach level 7. Reaching level 11 is one out of 1000. So you are battling an increasingly narrow group of players as you level up, eventually your win rate will be 50/50 unless you reach to the top and dominates almost everyone else...

The higher the level you move up the harder it get`s as more active manager`s, i remember being level 8/9 had best squad by mile even with changing tactic`s the worst teams were winning and i finished 8th ?? i`m now level 22 and still baffled finishing 8th and not top 4

I don't think age is that important because I won cup and CL with team which had age average 20 (one player was 30y.o., one 23, all other 22 or less in 22 players squad)

What is important then? Form.
Form is something that i think it is somehow written in your player's genes. If player has constantly bad form, you can't change it whatever you do. I've tried with blue boosters, position changing (for MC's), contract renewal (to increase wage), increase win bonus... Nothing worked. Only possible solution is to sell such player and get new one. It doesn't have to be whole team. Change only worst form players, few of them can change outcome drastically.
I've went through that, my team had 9th position for days although had strongest squad in the league. Then I sold my MC's, their form was constantly 6-7. Form of team completly changed, at the end I managed to finish season 2 points behind leader.

It is hard to avoid troll results, but if your team is in bad form, they will repeat and repeat. One troll result doesn't mean your team has problem.

Last season I had the same sensation using the team of the OMA League, the Port vale... and the solution for that is sell the worst player that you have in every line, (DC-MC-ST) and try to buy a key player.
I had very good results with the ST I bought because is doing the 1/2 of the work that I need to be in the Top of the league. At the end of the season if I obtain the Title ( lets see what happen, league is so long..) I will say for sure that a player did the 1/2 or more of the work.

Remember always, you can have 11 players in the team, but you only need 1-2 or max. 3 to make work the whole team.

I used to subscribe to this idea but I recently was working to develop a very skilled young MC fast trainer over several seasons and was very frustrated to see him deliver form in the 4-5 range. I decided to sell him and then miraculously he started to pull a form of 7'all of a sudden - and he's stayed there. He even delivered an 8 in an important match earlier thus week. Of course, i am overjoyed.

I am still figuring out these patterns as players develop, but I would caution against necessarily assuming a player can't change his spots.

Another thing is - do you also notice that you have a very good consistent team, then you go and buy ONE new player and suddenly your other players stop playing. Your new player gets a decent match rating (match rating are given out "randomly" btw), but your striker suddenly stops scoring and your winger stops assisting.

When you bench the fella, your team is back in business.

Maybe there is such thing as team "mojo". LOL.

Attacking should go with press whole pitch- i usually use mixed passing just so i can't make anything wrong haha..
If u get any players constantlly getting Ratings of 5-6 and stikers lower than 8 then just replace them.

You could come up with a defensive formation or maybe try V style formations down both flanks ?^^ get a decent AML/R and go for 451Vstyle, works good as plan B for me.
The higer level u get the harder the competition is ;D Less inactive players, more managers with exp.. yep, u got to work it out urself, i don't think anyone could tell ya what exactlly you doin wrong cause none knows how exactlly topeleven engine works :D

Νο matter what, if you have to lose you will lose. Not the morale/condition, not the formation will change that.

The other days I played with someone that have his team abandoned.. They come to my home to play only 9 players...the others added from the server. At the DMC place was a AMC. I lost 2-3. Guess who was the Man of the Game with a 9 rating!!!!! :P
My point is...dont waste your time to find the correct formation, or the super duper player. Nothing counts. This game is like poker. Νο rules for win. Everything is possible. Get used to!!

I believe this too. Definitely like poker and favours the token spenders. If you spend money on tokens and you lose matches with your new players that are many times replacing the old throughout many seasons and you lose, this doesn't encourage you to play the game further. Stop spending and nordeous fuks you off. I was dominate until I stopped getting tokens a quarter way in season 4 which I'm in now. I only spent to get one striker rating 43 average probably 30 for level 4 managers. Now I'm losing to sides with same average team rating. I lost 6-1 to a team with same quality and I used a counter formation from this site forums. Sometimes I feel watching the match is worse. The last match i didn't see as time was stupid and I won't 3-0. The odd thing was i looked in a hour later and my players hadn't lost any condition??? Also if I have played lesser teams maybe where manager are no longer present and I win substantially my players rating still hangs around 7.
Why are we all playing this and not a proper management game on a pc?
