something wrong in team settings??

Mostly the previous season but in this season also, i have in almost all games i played, to many total shots (15-20) but only few (2-6) shots in target. Why?? is it something wrong about my team settings?? When this situation hapents??
i usually play 4-3mc-2wide-1 or 4-2mc-2wide -2.

passing style: own half
tackling: normal
passing style: mixed
marking: zonal

ive lost a cup game 0-2 with 18 (3 on target) totals shots, my opponent had only 7 (5 on target)
