Upon playing the two matches in the qualifying rounds in which I won the first match 3-2, the second game ended 2-1 to the other team, I never qualified, and there were no penalties taken decide the winner of the 2 matches, how did I not qualify.

You lose out on away goal, your opponent scored 2 when you scored one on the respective away games.

There will be pk shootout if the away goal is also equal.

Because of this some manager trend to go more defensive on home games while aggressive on away games...
But home game does have possession advantage if you have your stadium filled.

T11 adopts general away goal rule. If the first match was at home pitch and 2nd match was at away pitch, your opponent won this round because he scores more away goals (2) than you (1).
