dead-line for new contract

Hi,

I have one player with 1 year left and would like him to sign a new contract.
When do I have to do that ? In other words: at which point is he going to leave without notice ?

you have 7 days from start of new season or he will leave on free on transfer, also if not signed before next match he won`t be able to play but here`s the kicker i did this and my player`s only signed for 2 yrs ??? which is wrong as they are all under 23 yrs old
