Hi all,
I've just had my first round cup matches and lost. Not going to whine about that, though I was 1 star stronger on average in the starting 11 than the other guy. **** happens!
But what puzzled me was his weird formation.

In the last 17 seasons I've learned that, illegal formations give you 20% possession. At most.
But he had 42% in each of the 2 legs.
To me, his fomation looks very illegal. What the f*** has happened here?
Anyone have an explanation?

They removed illegal formations from the game
I had a guy in my League with that formation (it's not a team called Barsenal is it?)
Anyway a few seasons ago (I think it was around the time they introduced associated positions/different color exclamation points) that illegal formations seemed to disappear. If a GK is on the field instead of goal there is still 80/20 but it seems with other weird formations it is only a percentage drop per guy out of position... and since there isn't anyone out of position in that formation it doesn't get much penalty. And I think they now count DM as defence rather than forward, because I only got 60/40 against that formation you show.
there isn't no more this "rule" (80-20).
Usually you have about 60-70 % and the best you can do is to find a counter formation, like in your case a 5-4-1, def/ counter through flanks .

Should have beaten him, anyway. Really weird tie. Should do better in the other two competitions then ;)
I beat that formation with 4 2 1MC 2W 1 but only by 2-1, was even Q to mine. I was expecting a better result with them having such scant defense.
