free kick "favoured side"

Reading some interesting comments from some forum friends who are going deeper in the game (like Khris or Buff) about testing and observing the behavior of the players, I wonder how can I get conclusions from a match like this :confused:

I wanted to test a new MC I bought this season - Rai.
I set Rai - a right foot player, in right side f-k and I set Neymar - a left foot player, in the left side f-k.
Both comments were about this wasn't their favorite side but both scored !
I had 2 of 2 successful free-kicks :p

* last season I also had Neymar, kicking from left side but I wasn't reading such comments.
* the other team had about the same q with mine, 5* players.

Now prove inverse places and lets see what happen LOL experimentatioon :rolleyes:

I don't really think the foot matters. I have had right left and both feet free kick specialists and they score an equal amount of goals

Probably a commentary bug. Previously Either footed still had a wrong side. Lots of things have been 'unusual' last 7 days.

I'll set up my right footed DR to take FKs and see what happens - got limited options this season as somehow I've managed to collect 8 either-footed players.

I've set either footed player to take free kicks and then comments said it isn't his favoured position LOL

Commentaries are mostly randomly plucked from their template, so I would not read too much into it. Don't lose sleep over it.

well, I can't find some logic in experiments like that.
I did a lot of experiments about fast trainers and I found solid results, but this thing about the right players (for corners/f-k/positions) , the right foot, it's like if you have an equation x + 3Xy=24, what number is x ? :confused:

well, it's a theory that I don't have strong arguments to confront ...
but why sometimes it has logic while others not ?

Either foot players still have main leg, and they use other one equally good...

Foot matters, but it's really negligible advantage... I always have high attack (+10) FK takers so the rest of the team can't match it... Player's form affects FKs more than foot...

Oh don't get me started about ratings! Rating is as random as it gets. No where else would a player who scores a winning goal get a 6 rating. And no where else can a player provide 3 assists and scores a goal not get MoM. From wht I understand, or what they want me to believe is that points are deducted from the player for each mistake (I am not sure the AI is intelligent enough, but that's besides the point), but it's definitely a weak algorithm if they can't factor in the importance of a winning goal for example.

I've come to enjoy the game as a mobile game - nothing more, nothing less. Left, right foot, ratings, results don't bug me.

oh oh no, this raises questions, and gives me a headache. Stupid, Yes?

It also happened to me, a MC I had, either foot/ f-k specialist, as another friend, @t11 fan.
I can think some scenarios
- Although the player use either foot, he has a favorite side (so the program doesn't recognize footedness)
- The phrase "Although blah blah" it's random and appears from time to time to give some realism in the comments of the match
- There is no footedness (right/left/either), it's just a cosmetic for realism
* Actually there is no footedness as a word in the forum -it reads it like wrong word although if you search the word in google there are results. Also in wiki. :confused:

Of course maybe there is a combination of those three or something else
but only devs of Nordeus know it for sure, so I believe that in a few hours or tomorrow we 'll have a clear answer :o

The favoured foot and favoured side of a single footed player for FKs used to be commented correctly iirc. Recently it was wrong - fixed now? (Not looked recently).

Either footed players have always been commented incorrectly, at least since the New Commentary thing - whether it was consistent or random I don't recall. I don't recall either whether it appeared after the Big Commentary Debac....erm....Update or before, but I do remember at the time suggesting they forgot to put Either Footedness in the look up table.

Today my ST, the player from post #11, scored with a f-k (same position) and this time the position was perfect for him :D

I don't have any attacker with a left foot, so I set my best player to take left side f-k.

I think the favored side is unrelated to the preferred foot, it always have been this way.

Right footed player usually have favored side at right but it is not always the case.
Either footed player have favored side, it's true.

In real football, right foot players usually shooting f-k from the left side of the field (and the opposite).

Maybe you 're right but here there is no logic, a players shooting from the same side and the comment one time saying it's not favored and after 2-3 days saying that it's the perfect position.
so, if we let the footedness beside, then

Yeah its cetrainly not fixed as a comment for 'immersion' purposes. My Rightie FK taker only takes on the right and he was taking it from the 'wrong' side last night.

Whether it really is the wrong side or not is another matter.

We can't really draw anything from it but it would just be nicer if they matched imo (and even better if they were meaningful feedback). After all, we don't even know if when it says right it really is right and if the choice of taker relates to 'in-game position' at all or its just a random selection. >.<

But its nicer to pretend. ;)

My ST Nasmark, a right footed player, taking F-K from the left side, which is not his favored side, got 4 goals from 5 F-K today (maybe that's the reason he didn't have a 5/5) :p

New record today, my player Mavros, scored 5 (of seven) goals, with free-kick.
He is "either foot" player but still have this silly comment, "not on his favoured side" :p

Commentators spout a lot of bull**** whether human or computer, the scoreline is all that matters
