Hello, I really liked this game until I received two players from the junior school. When I saw that in a contract with one of them would have to pay 21 tokens that I lost interest. Everything associated only with money, they could at least ye forgive yourself when signing the contract :) greetings and I hope that they will be people who will disagree with me! :)
Part of the Token cost is because you don't pay cash to sign him, you just pick up the wage cost - but the Token cost is too high for the quality offered. :(
If you don't like the price don't sign him. Simple?:p
Management game is about making decisions. Decisions can be good or bad, good managers learn from their mistakes and get better. Bad managers can put a lot of money into the game and still failed to win the trophies he wanted.
But I can tell you, if you know how to manage your team, the token costing youth is one of the better option available. Unlike transfer market, he cost no money and is risk-free to sign, and is always a fast trainer, that can keep 5* quality relatively cheap until age 26. That is with a few green pack spending you can keep a 4~5* for 8 seasons, and he will worth a lot to sell when you don't need him, way more than the wage and bonus you paid during the time he played in your team.
Anyway, since these options are also offered to other managers I don't see any problem about it. Sign him or not is your choice, nobody forced you to pay anything.

But youth academy is a good idea with a bad execution, so 99% of the players release the T junior (because he costs to much T, he is only 4* and if not spending much greens he still be 4* player, maybe he is playing in a position that we don't want) and sign the 0T player to sell him after that.
Unfortunately in levels 1 or 2 this is useless because you don't have many levels above you to sell him as a 5* player, and the money are few.
If signed at 4* near the beginning of a season, a token youth can gain nearly two stars by the end of the season, simply because a 4* player gain progress faster than 5*.
200% progress in one match without getting the MOM is typical for a 18y token youth. Such player at 4* can gain 5~6sp a day on average from match and training. If you have 28 green pack budget per season you can keep him above 6* for four or five seasons.
I signed one 24 token youth because they were suppose train faster than most, well that was hollocks as he trained slower than a donkey with 2 legs and i`v also signed a scout 22yrs old scout ( 50 tokens ) and he trained slower than a dead donkey so i will NEVER sign these player`s again until Nordeus get a brain and sort this out, although i do non token player`s and train to 1 skill away from next star and sell via neg list but this is only worth it from level 7 and above if level 4/5/6 then sign and sell on for the cash
I have never signed the token player from my youth academy and I never will. It's a total rip off.
I can get someone really good off the direct transfer list for the same number of tokens if I wanted to pay 15-21 tokens for a player.
Did you let them play competitive match before you start to powertrain them? At maximum motivation even a fast trainer can train very slowly, you have to give him enough pitch time so that you can train efficiently.
"A player with pitch time train faster" is one of the few important key mechanic mentioned in the official help section. What it didn't tell you is that a player with no pitch time train extremely slowly, so slow you can mistake a fast trainer with an ordinary.
I was able to keep a 22y scout 7 stars for 3 seasons with a morderate green pack budget.
And if you let a player with max motivation play, his form will likely be a 8 or 9.
I guess you sold them too soon and never let them play, before you could realize how good these players are.
If you buy a 4 star genplayer from the market for only one token, he advances in same speed, wich again makes it irrational to buy the Token academy player. actually it is much more rentable to buy a 5 star player even if the bidding war hits 40-50 token, just because he already is a star better, and still a fasttrainer.Quote:

Hunting those fast trainers from TL is too time-consuming to my tastes. My playstyle is just log for a few minutes, do everything and be done with it.
And if that involves a bidding war it can be very expansive in terms of in-game money while a token youth cost nothing but tokens.

Also (because I do much training for many seasons) training progress it's a fix value and I never saw any relation between gaining and participation in the games.

and want to add that a youngster is very fast trainer (over +150) because of his 4*. If he reach the 6*, the gaining will drop to +100, about the same of a 1st class nordgen.
Most Token youth players are fast trainers but occasionally there are lame ducks too. Neither mechanics nor voodoo will get the 'best out of him', just a flop.
The simple position is Token youths should be more competitively priced compared to Nordgens, given:
1 Your stadium investment has had a role in creating him; and
2. There is more access to Nordgens than Academy recruits - 7 every 3 seasons.
A simple increase by 1 star would fix the whole thing. eg for me a Nordgen costs say 70m+. Bank loans are 52m for 25T. The equivalent cost savings in no cash fee doesn't make up for the shortage in Q. Ofc there are other ways to get cash and T or just use in a 4/5* team but these are the standards/compaitors that Nordeus set and therefore how they should be judged.
Imo its nonsense to expect them free but they should be competitive with the comparable alternative.
All that said I've had 3 or 4 in my main teak and I had a 35T team that didn't venture anywhere near the TM and only existed on Academy recruits - and it was very nice ;)

Obviously if you can get an 18 y.o. gem for one or two T, it is not as attractive. I really have only had one dud trainer token youth but he was still a good player. They tend to be a sure bet, instantly a good rated player where the gems I need to play and train more before they perform well.
Many times I had youth signed, token or not, train very slowly so I put him on the starting lineup.

I pulled ridiculous stunts before like replacing a 4* ST with a 1* on the second half, who scored 2 goals, gained MOM and secured my victory, in a cup quarter final no less. Too bad I couldn't see my opponent's face when that game ended.
If you don't notice the significance of the hidden "motivation" status I talk about all the time, you will never materialize the hidden depths these players possess.
Rarely, token youth may be a bad starter but he get better once you figure out how to use them.
Three of my team's key players are y21 academy products. They are good players and have all trained fast. I am level 15 and my experience is that as you ascend the levels, the academy is more and more important. The transfer market is simply not interesting most of the time above level 12.
I also think that the academy produced player who costs tokens is a very reasonably priced opportunity vs the transfer market. The

Hey Buff, your suggestions are brilliant so other friends of the forum, so there were great suggestions about scout-list players but they took it and made it worse than before so I prefer to leave academy as it is.
Two times per season extra money or free low star players to drop the quality of the team for the Cup.

Ok, a 2* player who got an 8 and MoM. As a 6*-7* player can get a 4, with a reverse process a 2* player can get a 8. I search and found 2* players who have great rates from the crap teams of my league. I don’t post a picture because everybody if search, can find them in his league.Quote:

Having 1-2 players of 2*-3* in your team, with good rates, can have results, but it’s impossible to win titles with a team full of them.
Because quality has a priority in the game. :o
I ‘ve played (season 10 so far), 8 CH.L. finals (and semi finals of course), 2 CUP finals and 4 semi finals. I never faced a team with 2*-3* or 4* players. All the teams were 5*, few players 4*, few 6*. Never saw a team with 3* players winning a league.
I ‘ve played and lost sometimes against 4* teams (while having a 5*-6* team), but having 1*- 1,5 * quality difference it’s in the game.
- Academy player, I had one. 1st season I trained him and having him as back up. Second season, as main GK, continuing with good rates and in the end of the season he finished with 5s :(. Starting the third season with bad rates and sold ! What else I could do ? To use him as DC ?
* I don’t use second GK to rotate , it’s a waste position.

Of course you can't field a team full of them, it's more or less a one-shot weapon. Motivation greatly drops once this is done it is impossible to maintain a good form if you use him too often, but for a while, or that ONE game, even a 1* is comparable to a fair-conditioned 8* player.
And a backup GK improves form, I always make sure my team to have 2 GK.
There is no "waste slot" for a low star young player, as they are profitable to train anyway.
