Tiny update my end.
Rhondda Rovers played the League and Champions League matches earlier today and showed off our brand new black away shirt in the process. Nothing major of note really as the League game as against a poor team and the CL match was against an illegal formation. Both finished 5-0.

Unfortunately, yellow cards for Allman (League) and Lubo (Champions League) means that they are suspended for the next respective match.

Palace Casuals seem to be making a real go of this season:
- top of the league table (usually slow starters and only hit the upper reaches of the table in the second half of the season)
- top of Champions League Group (can usually be found in the bottom two and sneak into the Knockout rounds in 2nd place)
- through to Playoff Round of Cup (not usually still in by this point in the season)

Day 3 was probably the low point in that the first League game produced a disappointing 1-1 draw at home and then an even more disappointing 0-1 home defeat in the Round 1 match of the Champions League. Day 4 brought a crunch match against our League Champions last Season which brought out a stunning 5-2 away win, and the team has not looked back since, winning all matches in all competitions.
The team is a little heavy in personnel at the moment, which makes it easier to cope with three competitions without resorting to too many green cases. A couple of Youth Players are due in 5 days time so when they arrive a decision will need to be made which players will be retained.

What is pleasing is that the two main strike players are firing on all cylinders, Neagu in the League and Pinto in the other competitions, senior striker Neagu is occupying places in all of the League charts. Left winger Haubner is also finding the net with assuring regularity, especially as he is the primary set-piece taker, current haul is 3FK, 2Pen and 1Solo. At the other end of the scale, Haubner and Babou Noubi put in some poor performances early on and have been rested for the past 2 (Haubner) and 3 (Babou Noubi) days. Haubner was drafted into the Champions League squad for todays match and produced a middling 7 and Babou Noubi was on the bench for the league game as two of the other central midfielders were unavailable, but wasn't used.

League: Buffs FC try to draw a line in the sand with this habit of tied matches and conceding in every game.
In match 5 they won 2-1 - almost forgetting to concede but they put that right near the end, and only Craig Gordon's punch from a dbl CK on 89 mins avoided the draw.:p
As match 6 drew nearer the fans were drawn back with the prospect of 3 wins in a row. Let's draw a veil over that prospect = 1-1. >.<
The Buffs lie 5th or 6th, 6 pts behind still as the leaders lost to 3rd.
Buffs Mad said later "There's just no spark in the league this season, no one player that's stepping up to make a difference - just steady 7 and 8 ratings and the feeling that we are the opponents' 'Cup Final' >.<

Next update, as I had two early matches today.
Rhondda Rovers reserves played their League match at home to KKP and won with a convincing 6-0 win. However, Thomsen was injured early on and is currently out for three days.

Three hours later saw the main team up against Mustapher in the first leg of the Cup. Despite a brief watch, we managed to win 2-1 at home, but a tense second leg will be expected due to them scoring a 90th minute goal.

Won the CL match today getting our revenge, they didn't want us to get out of the match clean though, so they caused us the 2nd injury this season, one player two injuries.. This got us back on track in the group as we're 2nd again, but with the 1st leading with 6 points difference and 2 matches left, it's very hard -if not impossible- to get the lead, all I want now is to be 2nd, beat him:rolleyes:, and get a good draw in the next round.
As for the league, we're still leading with full wins, and today my two main rivals play against each other, giving me the chance to increase the difference and be more comfortable. :3

Terrible performance in the champions league today; losing 3:0. We're second in the group on 9 points, trailing only on goal differential. Just have to learn from the game and not make the same mistakes again...
Group stage problems have been a problem spanning several seasons now. This marks the 6th consecutive campaign in which we've dropped points in the group. However, we still have faith, since during those 6 seasons, we have 5 CL final appearances, including 4 wins.
