There was a lot of bidding wars today. I wasted a lot of tokens.
are you level 19 ?
Maybe he meant 'was' instead of 'went'.
I think Op is posted about the price going up higher. Not the Player who Purchased being on higher level.
I've always avoided opening day rush, even when I have a mountain load of tokens. Mad, mad market. Prefer to look at the ones in nego, if lucky might find a selling manager.
Yes, but the problem is when you have sold many of your players at the end of last season for virtual money to be able to provide funds at the start of the new season for buying better players. You have more or less no other choice if you have some important matches in the first few days. You can't even count on the scouts' list. Take a look at the thread I have posted on that topic.
Ahhh, my good sir, that is where u and i differ in management.
I do not sell my players at the end of the previous season for the fact that I would want them to be available for selection in the mickey mouse cup.
I sell the ones I do not want on the first few days of the season when their selling price may get hiked. Most players who are in my starting lineup I assume will be good enuff for the new season until I get better players. That's why I don't rush to get better players and play the waiting/nego game.
But their market values drop to about 20% when the new season starts. And what if there are a lot of suitable players for you in the transfer market at the start of the season, but you can't bid for most of them because you don't have enough money. You will have to wait until the listing time for the ones your put on the transfer list to end, but then, by that time, the suitable players you have identified will be probably gone too.
This depends on your level also. At higher levels, virtual money does not seem to be a problem, but at lower levels, it is more likely to be among the main limiting factors. Also, at lower levels, negotiations are disabled.
DAY 3 is where the real action happens
their market value may drop at the start of the new season, BUT if you have a ton of skill points to assign, their value goes back up once assigned.
Ask Spornybol if money is a problem at higher levels. He is a few levels higher then me, I am level 20 and have no money issues whatsoever. I think money issues happen the more you buy and sell. since I tank and dont need to buy and sell as often as those that almost buy a new team every season.....
One thing you have to understand from this game - there will always be suitable players. It is all about patience. I have always seen players that I think are suitable for my team but am unable to buy due to cash or token issues. But life goes on and the next suitable player will come the next day.
I would take the 20% loss because
1. 80% is better than 0 & bidding wars can increase the price.
2. You don't risk yourself of not having a proper squad
3. You WILL spend a lot of tokens on opening day, unless you have a quiet server.
I have played this way since Level 1 and have avoided the first 1-2 day madness.
You way want to consider buying those 5 star x4, x9 players at the end of the season if you are an end of season seller.
