Yes, based on your experience, it seems that there may be a relation with the age or the amount of time spent at a particular club.

I got too disagree, I have had many excellent players having had a rough start just to become keyplayers through the season and/or the following. So it of course depends on your timetable, but I would always keep and test my investments
Actually: most/many players starts slow 6-6-7-6 etc.. no panic IMO
I suppose if your team is scoring 8 and 11 every other game and your other strikers are scoring hat-tricks for fun then a single 6 is a bit of a failure...
my main striker below he`s 25 and had him since 19

and my 2nd choice but he does set a few goals before this season and he`s 24 and had since 18 :)

so be patient
It's another thing if you had a ST who played last or some seasons ago, good games and this season he is under performing
from a ST who bought today and starts with a 6 (which remember that is a lower rate comparing with a 6 of a MC,DMC or GK)
It's anther thing if you spend 1 2 t for a ST from TM than spend 50T for a scout/list player, T academy or fast trainer.
It's a failure if he scores bucket-loads against abandoned teams, but disappears during crunch matches.
Yeah the clutch factor should never be overlooked. Big goals mean spot in squad for me.
