Steppenwolf, you are a number nut right? Love those excellsheets :) Can you explain the star thingies? As in, what do the yellow and green stars mean?
I'll join Wolfie in celebrating a departing player.
Steve Nicol ended his Buffs' career 2 days ago. His final performance in the league was both a celebration of his career and a signal that he's not finished in football yet - coming off the bench and nodding in a Harper FK against the then 2nd placed team.

In 9 Seasons at the Club, the later 3 mainly as a sub, he gained 7 league winners medals; 6 CL and 3 Cup.

PS. Whether he's finished or not is uncertain since he was sacked for gross misconduct following an incident in the canteen involving a slab of butter, meat and 2 veg.
Cup: The Buffs shouldn't have been worried but a 2-1 home win in the first leg had left things precarious. The shots had peppered the opposition goal but their main DC rated 10.
However, worry not, today the Buffs cruised into a healthy 3-0 lead and an utter collapse followed when in 80 mins an opposition DC got red carded and 4 more goals flew in.

Afterwards Buffs Mad said "15 tackles, 14 fouls, we were lucky to get out alive. But 3 goals from FKs and 1 from a PK (GK Craig Gordon) were just rewards."
All my 5 teams through next round of CUP...but next round is a bit tough...
Singapore Lions may have signed 4 players, but more signings will coming soon tomorrow.
I decided not to sign more of those because of the new league system, which makes things harder for us obviously.
Palace teams report, Monday 25th July...
Casuals Cup 2nd Leg match could very well have been a disaster. In the first half, MC Kamal booked, then the other MC Topalan injured, while I was dealing with the substitution for the injury, Kamal gets a second yellow card! Half-time and I was making a second MC substitution MC Christie for ST Neagu. 3-0 up from the first leg, 0-2 down at HT in the 2nd Leg, SV Ya Man scored again in the second-half and extra-time loomed, then the miracle happened - DC/DMC Zhelev scored twice in the last five minutes to make the score 2-3 and 5-3 on aggregate. Dodged a bullet there, methinks...
Terriers 2nd Leg match was much more straightforward - 3-0 up from the first leg against Level 3 Dinesh FC, goal-less first half - the stats at half-time made interesting reading:
Attachment 50583
In the second-half, goals from Atkins, Soto and Masegela put Terriers 3-0 up on the day, and in the 80th minute the visitors got their first shot on target, a header from a corner confidently saved by home 'keeper Mateus. Three minutes later, however he couldn't stop the next, which gave Dinesh a consolation goal. Terriers weren't finished, as ST Armstrong-Ford capped a fine display with a solo goal to make the final score 4-1, a 7-1 aggregate win.
Desert Rats FC made a great improvement in their Cup 2nd Leg match away at Rafael FC (the Bot team in the 1st Leg having been taken over by a RL manager), winning 3-1 for a 3-2 aggregate win. Goals from Taylor(2) and Broomes were the scorers.
Through to the 2nd round of the cup, on the backs of a 9:0 agg victory.
Just looked against at my champions league draw and Nordeus really messed it up. It consists of 5 lower level league champions. No 2nd, 3rd or 4th place lower-level teams here, just league winners. To add to the problem these level 14 squads are dealing with three token buyers (level 15) that have combined for 21 champions league titles, in addition to a couple other strong level 15 teams.
My three teams pass to Cup's next round, but:
1st team: 2 injuries, 11 days!
2nd team: 1 injurie, 6 days!
3rd team: 2 injuries, 9 days! And my best player 6 days :(
Starts the new injuries Plague for me :(
1-0 and 1-0, good start vs good opponent!
Tigers record 2nd win to power though to the 2nd round of the Cup
Leicester Tigers beat Real Madrid FC 4-1 at home yesterday to set up a nice buffer for the team. The team manger yesterday said in the press conference he would like an early score in the 2nd leg to put the game to bed, however this did not happen! The men in Green and red suffered a dreadful first half in their first ever away match of the clubs life. They had numerous set piece chances but failed to capitalise on any of them, mean while Real Madrid hit the woodwork many times! 0-0 was the half time score, on aggregate a very healthy 4-1 to the Tigers. Goals from Buhler (53 minuets), Placzek (57 minuets), Ward (76 minuets) and a header from injury stand-in haddrell (82') wrapped up a comfortable victory. Winning 4-0
Press conference
Cook, the Tigers captain had some interesting thoughts on the game "During the first half i was very worried with how the team played, and very worried with the amount of shots the opposition produced. I was far away on many occasions of saving the goals but luckily the woodwork played a part. As captain, i tried to inspire the boys and this seemed to have worked. No disrespect to the oponants however, they were good."
Man of the Match for the Leicester scored a goal and also provided two assists from his boot. Left Midfielder Buhler! "Thank you for this prize, i worked really hard in todays game, especially after a poor start, I was glad to get a goal and help my team to become winners."
The Team Manger also had some comments of the games outcome. "Today we saw some real pride and passion in this new team. I was impressed that the boys didn't get deflated at half time after so many wasted chances, it goes to show that this brand new team does in dead have some strong potential.
"How are things shaping up for in the League perpetration?"
"well, ill be up early in the morning to find out where we have to go and who we have to play. A top 4 finish in the league is the bare minimum for this team, especially after how good we know they can play. When the opponents are announced, I will see if winning the league is a realistic chance, it should be."

2nd Leg in cup pretty easy again , 5:0 for our team (15:0 agg)
goal scorers : Madureira (x2) , Layfield (x2) , Tol
Wow, just got my league fixtures - and all I can say is its going to be a very long season.
My team is ranked as half way between 5 and 6 stars with a 177.5 average. (175 would be 5 star, 180 would be 6)
There are 6 teams that are better than me, with the worst ranked team coming in at 173.6.
It looks like its going to be difficult as I have been drawn in literally the hardest league imaginable. Normally there are 2 or 3 strong teams, with a couple of dead/weak ones - but this is the first time where EVERY team is capable of being the winner!
Up early to hunt in the Transfer Market for a new striker for Palace Casuals.
Targeted this one, eventually got him for 7T/$114M:
Attachment 50590
Also picked up this one, he was on sale about three minutes before Liam Cashman, and as no one bid put in a last second bid and got him for 1T/$97M as insurance against not getting Cashman:

Will try both of them out and see how they fare, will eventually select one to sell from these two and the two existing ones in the squad.
My guy doesn't post on here, but he had a couple retiring legends I wanted to share:

Yep, the stadium will be renamed in Wemmer's honor; a youth product his whole career in one team.

league looks interesting again... my goal this season is to win League.
I cancelled the friendly match (as shown in attached picture) between my teams on season day start as planned. If I forgot to cancel it, my team should be very tired in both matches.

I just review the league and champion league draw for my teams.
My level 25 team is drawn to a level 26 Champion League. It will face 3 stronger level 26 teams in group stage. I checked 2 other groups and noticed that there is also one Level 25 team in each group. In league, the qualities of most teams are still close. At this moment, about two third of them within 1 quality point comparing with my team. But there are 4 teams with average quality at least 2 less than my team.
My level 17 team does not qualify for CL in this season. In league, unlike previous seasons, the qualities more largely varies. Quality of my team is about at the median. There are 6 teams with average quality 2 to 4 points more than my team. Qualities of players in this team is very even. So their starters actually are much more stronger than mine. This is not a small margin that my team can quickly catch up with available resources. On weak side, there are 4 teams which are 2, 6, 11 & 13 points lower than my teams in quality.
bad day for my teams at CL...
3 wins 2 lost.. unluckily, both high level team lost.. Level 23 & Level 22...even we dominating the matches
league not yet play..huhu

Irritating draw in CL :(

Last season I learned that my tactics cost me cup and cl advancement due to being too attacking and open. I also learned that you can put morale at max for only 2 packs, I thought it worked like rests for 6 months :(. I'm sitting at 44M liquid and 212M squad value but currently 0 tokens. Bought a defender, Balogun, and a MF, Banic. Banic is less than ten points from 5 star nego level so I may sell him for tokens to a fair offer if my other midfielders stay healthy/not suspended.
Here's how my squad looks going into Day 3 of season 9.

Through in cup 6-1 on aggregate. This season i will be prioritizing CL and Cup fixtures rather than league, all I want is a top 4 finish. My squad isn't very deep in bench quality.
Gruober has torn his acl for the 2nd time in a week, he may have to play a substitute role if he can't stay fit.
Fisher and Makaay are crushing it together though so I am not in panic mode yet, although I haven't seen how my first squad plays together after allocating nearly all banked SP.
First victory in League with the subs for my first team ;)
CL group is harder than last season, then mainly players plays this competition and Cup until I can do affort it.
Market Transfer is bufffff. I prefer keep my players at the moment, I waste near to 15 tokens and nothing (excep day 1), for a T35 player this is a lot :(
By the otherside, I think Nordeus changes something in the scripts.
I think they help teams with active manager (the best for us).
In my mainly team, I scored in minute 90' classification goal with 1 player injured vs a team 2 levels higher than me without active manager, and another was similar.
League: Got caught on the hop with an early league match. Thankfully they won 4-0. GK Craig Gordon scored his 2nd in 2 matches (PKs).
After the match, although he turned up late for interviews, Buffs Mad said "If I had been there it would've been 10."
I don't have any expectation to CL now. But my team expectedly won with my first Champion League competing with higher level teams. I started my backup players and they performed well. BTW, this match reminds me the days I played in mixed level league about 15 seasons ago.

So having been put in a shark league with every team being really strong I had a choice to make - either fight it out with everyone as my team was, or to improve my current team to give me a better chance.
As such, I decided to use my 3K Green packs that I had in investing in my players.
First up, Foster was pushed right to the top of 9 star like last season. One more cone will see him be 10 star quality.
Next up I decided that I would make every player at least scout quality so power training started with that.
Looking at training speed Alagun, Akdeniz, Irawan and Bazil all seemed to train pretty fast too, so the decision was made to push them four on to 7 star quality.
http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/...d/28072015.png
My team has gone from being 177.5 quality to 182.1 quality as a result, so its only an increase of 4.6Q, but I am pretty happy that I have good balance in the squad and some brilliant cover in my team.
Having kept the same players for a couple of seasons now and power trained them to triple roles etc.. I feel I have a good understanding of how they fit in my team and who plays well. I now hope that my team will be able to meet my expectations for the season which is always to promote in a top 4 spot.
I do hope that if I do get promotion this season that next season's league draw is a lot kinder than the horrible shark draw I was given this season. Amazingly, even after all this power training the weakest team in the league is still less than 10Q different than mine.
This league will probably go down to the side that gets trolled the least. I just hope I've done enough to get myself in the top 4 by the end of the trolls.
Squad Strength of teams in my league -
175Q is 5 Star quality for comparison.
---------------------------
182.1 FC Halifax Town (My Side)
177.5 Sucatigucu
177.3 Civriz Spor
176.8 Sahin FC
176.5 Cinarpasa
176.2 FC Dragons Team
176.2 Lele FC
176.1 Progresul Buc
175.9 Real Madrid FC
175.9 Tervel
175.3 Skypea
175.2 FC Juve
174.2 Nebulanka
173.1 Fenerbache
---------------------------------------
So I am now the better side, but that is after using a lot of packs to power train - and there are several teams in that list that look to be still in the process of improving their sides, so I expect some qualitys of those to quickly increase in the next 24 hours or so too.
12 of the 14 teams are at least 5 star in the league, with the other two only slightly lower than it. Its total madness.
What makes it even more daunting is that the teams Civriz Spor, Sahin FC, Cinarpasa, FC Dragons Team, Fenerbache, Tervel, FC Juve and Lele are all teams I have come across over the past year and seen on our servers and are all very active and competitive users. Along with myself we are all league winners from last season, with all but Cinarpasa also getting to the CL Final too.
Looking at other leagues at this level by clicking teams on the CL tabs show that all the other leagues have at most 3 teams that are 5 star quality with at least 2/3 dead/weak teams in each league.
Its a case of really being screwed over in this league. Unbelievably some very strong teams that I've had battled with over the years will fail to promote from my league whist some other teams who are rubbish will make the grade due to easier leagues.
Its going to be a shame to lose some cracking opponents in the next 28 days due to an unfair league draw. I just hope my quality is enough to keep me in the promotion spots - but at this stage I'm still not convinced I'm strong enough as I know a few of those teams I've come across before will be improving their teams too soon.
Today I've recived an offer, via negotiations for Ronaldo de Lima, this ST that costed me 64T and did not convinced.
His value, 104M, the offer, 100M.
I prefeer this player in Mars. And with that I say all I have to say.
LOL
CL: Buffs FC are held to a draw in the opening match. Quite unexpected.
Buffs score, they score, Buffs score, they score, the Buffs pepper their goal in last 10 mins - 2-2.
Striker Jack Harper rates a 6. We will look for other Strikers in the next 2-3 days to find one to train up. If Harper gets back on track we'll carry over 2 next season, if not he can go sign with Brighton ;)
I'm drawn against 13 5* active teams,not a single abandoned/weak team.. Great..
Also i am matched against a 3 levels higher team than me in Cup,and his line up is full of 7-8* players although his bench is like 3-4* players so that gives him "only" 6Q bigger than mine.It seems like the champions league would be the easiest as we got 2 weak teams in our group.
