SA dont increase the value.
Star is always better, so I agree with Khris :)
but it is late season, and you should wait till next season to buy new players. because if you are promoted your current players will 'lose' a star for the next season.
Star, price and age are the most important factors when shopping for a new improvement of your team IMO
These are both players on my squad, going up for auction at beginning of next season, I'm going to be promoted, so both are leaving. I am selling both to get a sense of how close to full market value I can get for each player. I believe many players of top eleven are enamoured by the little picture that comes with a special ability.
I would choose Paddy any day of the week. Faster trainer propably, younger and 4 more quality.
Quick question about next season. I still have 2 players which I haven't extended their contracts as I want to sell them. I read somewhere that you can still sell them 7 days into the next season or will they be gone at the start of next season when I don't sign a new contract?
At the beginning of next season, they're out of contract, so you can't sell them (as they technically aren't yours to sell). You can only re-sign them (and sell them immediately) or let them leave after 7 days...
It'll probably be better if you re-sign them now as they will demand more if you're a Level higher next season - or will they demand less because they're a star lighter? Help!!!
That reminds me - I must have a look at which of the OOC players I have in the squad I want to keep... :)
no but sa attracts like a magnet possible buyers.Quote:
SA dont increase the value.
At the first day, a good player with sa can cause a good bidding war but cannot reach the value of a player who had sp > quality.
* above, is more common to lower (than yours) level.
yeah sa is great for high negotiation sales, if you dont have cash troubles go that route
Let's rank the importance of each asset:
1- Performance
2- Quality
3- Age
4- Roles
5- Special abilities
Unless they are Nordgens, players who have special abilities (SA) have gained them through training, sacrificing their quality level by 50 skill points, therefore more than three quality points. While quality does not guarantee performance, it definitely weighs in the balance.
Take a look at my team. How many SAs do you see in there?

Right. Only two. I currently am on top of my league and will win it unless I lose the last game by six goals. Unlikely, as I have the best defence in the league... with only one defender having a SA.
I also made it to the Cup semi-finals.
My second striker, Vailescu, scored on a number of direct free kicks during live matches, including three in a single game.

Is he a Free Kick Specialist? No, but his shooting ability is high and he beat goalkeepers with it!

Let's sum it up: get young guys who have quality, improve fast in training and perform. If they can play multiple positions, that's a welcome addition as they make your squad deeper.
If they already have a special ability, great, but don't spend tokens or skill points just for a SA.
guys! shouldn't I get an undefeated achievement for this?

Sorry for putting this here by mistake :(
I have a few players this season that have been " Special" very "Special" lol
If you are buying the most expensive Nordgens of your league level, maxing them to 6 star actually hinders their development. I fyou put 50 points into a valuable SA in their first season, their gains in the 2nd will not drop off as quickly as a player you are just pumping skill points into. Also, you are lvl 5, playing against bots, why should we listen to you. My league this season, the top season scorer had 13 goals. If you don't have specialists on your setpieces, you won't score as much, it's a fact.
My experience so far with SA doesn't allow me to call those "valuable" and I am not the only one to say that. Many managers who are more experienced than I am are saying the same thing in this forum.
And by the way, you are making the wrong assumption about bots. Most managers in my league are active.
In the end, we can all manage our teams the way we want to and it doesn't matter if we disagree.

Coincidence?
No, they are playing in a 3 star league, by design.
Such a scientific approach you have, numbers may appear easier to quantify than %chance increases or "luck" boosts but I assure you that any and all advantages should be sought out.
I have two players, both rated 6 stars and have the corner specialist special ability. In the first 2/3 part of this season, both players were assisting successfully from corners. In the final third part of this season, the special abilities appeared to have been disactivated; the players do not take corners like they did before, even when playing against much weaker opponents. One of the player was here last season; he was the team best assister and he was very efficient in taking corners.
I have a player, rated 7 stars (rated 6 stars earlier in the season) with free-kick special ability. This special ability appeared to have worked efficiently for about the first 2.5 weeks of the season (a period where he was still in the 6 stars range). Then, as with the cases above, the special appeared to have been disactivated - the player did not score any more from free-kicks; many of his free-kicks went high or wide, even when playing against much weaker opponents.
You would have expected that the raise in quality as the season went on would have made the players more efficient; but, as you have read above, the reverse has occurred after some time.
I have had a lot players with special abilities. My opinion on special abilities: they do work and they do give the team a significant advantage, but only when the game allows them to work, and I would say the same when it comes to quality too.
I am not saying yay or nay.
Just want to post a player that is doing very well and not having any SA or even scout level

sometimes a player is just excellent in a season or two
In t11 many things are working the way
"better have than not have".
sa it's one of them.
If someone can have extra sources, it's worthy to have players with sa , but it's not a must or a guarantee.
There is no need to argue because I 'm saying again that there are many way to play the game.
Even me, I have now 3 teams, each of them playing in a different way.
Two examples from me
- it's very easy to sell a player with sa, anytime of the season, even today, the last day
- you can't sell so easy a player who is young, fast trainer and you spend for him 50 sp.
(I mean when he is failing in performance)
Your fingers are too heavy when you must hit the "shell" button
Just to summarize: Gazo sold for 61.9 million or 86% of his market value, not bad considering I messed up his training and added one extra skill point.
Turner went for a modest 93 million, 102% of his value. Got myself a couple of nice replacements for that cash.
