Champions League, group C, day 1

WIth a tense atmosphere, the CL curtain opens over New Team's stadium; right before the match, journalists assault New Team's coach, pushing him after the recent bad results in Cup, and the league:

Journalist: COach Mat, seeing at your team's recent difficulties, and being this your first official Champion's League, what would you say about the upcoming match? Are you gonna risk again with the recent trend, or might you adjust the formation to be a bit less reckless due team's difficulties?
Madmat *Mumbles* Well you see, since the recent results i can't say we're doing great, and i fear tonight the team will suffer psycological fear towards this new competion popping up. Therefore i thought about playing a 6-3-1 tonight, to at least get our first point of the season.
A sudden silence fills the air. The journalists, perplexed, keep watching the coach unable to realize what he just said. Soon enough, murmurs start to occur among them, with someone nodding his head while agreeing on the desperate condition of the team. Suddenly, on the coach's face, an arrogant smirk appears, conquering back the media's attention.
Coach Mat: Is it this what you wanted me to say and write about? *Another smirk*.Sorry to disappoint you then. We trained HARD to get to this point, and the pressure you're putting upon us after just a couple of matches is ridicolous. Are you already selling out our dead bodies? We are the New Team, and we didn't arrive here for a fluke. You'll see very soon what happens underestimating us.He turns his back to them, walking away
The crowd starts murmuring again, more noisy than before. All the hands raised willing to ask more questions to the coach get liquidated by his firm hand raised, without turning back to them.

    New Team FC (26.6) 5 - 0 Chile (17.7)

With a stadium crowded besides the recent issues, New Team starts with a 4-1-2-1-2 ND against Chile's 4-4-2. The pressure put on the away team is heavy since the very start. But the bad Omen floating around New Team doesn't seem to want to lift away from them. At minute 14 Lemnaru, the reserve DMC, gets an injury after a quick steal at midfield. Lemnaru had substituted the star player Julian Ross (The Prince), KO'd in the previous League's match, leaving New Team without any players covering that role (Still looking on market). Coach Mad doesn't lose his composure, deciding to send in Bruce Harper as replacement.
Despite the facts, this time Oliver Hutton & friends aren't planning to get depressed for such a fuss. The pressure even increases untill at minute 35 Karimi feeds Hutton a nice ball, and the captain jumps 2 defenders straight just to avoid the Goalie too for the 1-0. Hutton raises his finger to the sky, announcing the comeback. The first half ends with a tiny advantage despite the 10 shoots on goal by the Home players.
The second half is even more fired up than the beginning: Nordin takes Mellow's place as AMC, and from the get-go Hutton drinks away the defense again at minute 56 for the 2-0. Finally supporters start to shout down cheering their star forward! Taken by their followers, Chile don't even get to move the ball again before Hutton steals it and serves Lenders the 3-0 ball, at minute 37. With the match settled, New Team's 11 don't just seem to want to stop. Minute 61: Hutton dribbles again through the flanks and perforates the goal smashing his shoot on the post. 4-0! Five minutes later (66), Callaghan decides to dive into attack serving Nording the ball for the 5-0. The rest is mere ball controlling and energy sparing. New teams gets straight ahead in the CL, planning their revenge over the soon to be faced opponents in League. An overwhelming strenght dispatch as can be seen in the statistics.

    Scorers: O.Hutton, (3), Lenders (1), Nordin (1).

July Fourth 3-1 Mars Champions League Group F Round 1
    July Fourth 102.0 1st Half 4-1-2-1-2 ND, 2nd Half 3W-2-3W-2 Atk - Mars 89.2 4-4-1-1 Right ST.

The red planet came to visit us here in London for the first group game this evening, July Fourth have a history of getting narrow wins in the first group game in the CL each season, for some reason its never Round 1 when we make our impact in the competition, It was the same case here, Mars played well and put up a good fight, Early on in the 6th minute Michu crossed the ball into find the advancing Papaleo into the Mars penalty box to knock it in to give us the lead, Miku had an effort midway through the first half but it was an easy save from the Mars GK, We then needlessly conceded a corner in the 37th minute and failed to deal with the cross into the box which von Bergen got the equaliser for Mars. The second half we switched tactics, taking off a tired Tony Adams and Petr Vasko and brought on L.McNamara and Zidane to go 3W-2-3W-2 and this seem to have an effect as we were getting many attacks on goal, Miku wasted a couple of chances but Michu was more intelligent to play a pass to Papaleo after beating some defenders and Papaleo made no mistake and July Fourth were back infront, Then out of knowhere seen Chuck Norris finish this game off with a long 40 yard kick that beat the Mars GK off his line, This fantastic goal saw Norris turn up the heat for the rest of the game by running into space and create a chance for Zidane but Zidane mis-kicked it and it was cleared.

Goals: Michu (6) von Bergen (32) Papaleo (51) Norris (79) MOTM: Norris

There's a clueless manager in the CL lol.. He brought on a defender for a midfielder on 15 minutes at 0-0...At half time he took off his 5* striker for a 4* striker and then on 80 minutes he subbed out the defender he brought on earlier lol. He won but wow, I don't see the logic because there were no injuries.

That guy along with 3 other giants in this tie are all on the other side...So I will be dodging them until the semi-finals at least

Gotta be up there with the scout buyer that couldn't qualify from the group stages in your CL last season.

Now that I'm reaching level 5, I notice a lot of people get support from their friends. At least 3 people watched my main CL opponent today, I don't like adding people because of unwanted friendlies but I may have to add some people if I want to get possession bonuses

This is what happens when we are 10 quality better than every other team on your level on average, I've nearly gained another 1 quality on power training alone in the last day, take away youth player I'm at 102.1, most other teams average about 92 in L16. Most other managers just want to try and tilt the game engine in our opponents favour by supporting our opposition, but usually our quality is more than enough.

    Harrogate Town 1-0 FC Neubuz

    Goals: 16' Konrad Giel

A nervy game at the CNG stadium for Harrogate Town but they did enough. Again it is Konrad Giel with the goal in the 16th minute. A wonderful solo effort getting the ball on the half way line, he ran at the defence from the right side before cutting inside and letting fly with his left foot, curling it into the top corner leaving thew opponent keeper with no chance to get anywhere near it.

Unfortunatley after the match David Winder was unavailable for comments but his assistant manager Eric Cantona was on hand to comment.

Roy Keane for ITV: Hello Eric been a long time since we have seen you involved with the beautiful game. How do you feel the team did today?

Eric Cantona: Ah Oui, Roy thank you it was good to get the call on Monday to be offered the role of David Winder's assistant and I couldn't say no. I think the boys did well today we have a good young squad and I think that showed a bit today as they are nearly all new to Chsmpiond league football. I will be getting hands on with the forwards as I feel Ian can do a little more infront of goal. Having not scored yet. Although they he does have 2 assists so far.

Roy: Who do you feel will be the key player for your club this season? So far it is looking like the Konrad Giel show for you guys.

Eric: I feel it will definitely be Konrad by the looks of things. He reminds me of one super player out there at the moment. PERFECT TACTICS Chano Peterson. I also have a feeling Ian Blackstone will come good and soon start to score freely. Chuck Norris reminds me alot of you actually Roy. A tough tackling ball winning midfield player.

Roy: Well thank you for that Eric. It was nice to see you again and good luck with the new job as Harrogate Town's Assistant manager.

Eric: Thanks Roy see you soon. Bye.

That raps up another post match show from harrogate Town's latest game. See you all soon.
