Also, I have a guy who loves to counter, he'll probably park the bus and defend if he goes 1-0 up. That's what I'm trying to avoid

Does anyone know which days are a cup final and a Champions league final? It seems like it should be Thursday and Friday but cup had more than usual break in the last round..
do you think it would be a good idea, if we collect some team strenghts for each level? So every beginner can look at the table and he can see that in Lvl2 the leaders have a average of 22, top4 20 and average 18 (fictional numbers ofc)
if we collect enough data it should be a good indication.
for lvl1-3/4 i can do it myself (by stalking the leagues of biders in random auctions) but above i would need some help
i have 24.5 average quality (so 0.5 shy of 5*) and i am ~6 points better than second in my league
i guess L2 isnt really competitive^^

CL outlook:
In one an a half hour we travel to Argentine and face a very difficult task in the semis, Toshi FC managed by an Asian manager. We rested some key players in the league match one hour ago and used some green packs to field a fit team against Toshi, who had his league match already in the afternoon (great match making Nordeus, an all away matches). The quality difference is only 3 points (30.1 vs. 32.8) and Toshi seems active, but we hope for the best.

COnsidering the quality difference, there shouldn't be match. Altho they have surpassed already few Q23+ teams untill here. They will play 4-1-2-1-2, and due to our better quality, i am oriented to play the same exact formation. Altho i might opt for something else but keeping on 2 STs.
Would 3W-1-3-1-2 be effective in the end? Not sure tho, as lately game engine seems to push the best the weaker the team faced is. Opinions are welcome when 35 minutes are left before showdown.
Should work, an alternative could be 3N-1-4-2, a formation that blocks the center and attacks him over the wing. Or if one striker is ok for you a motivated 4-1-4-1 (wing backs and wingers up).
3-1-2-2-2 remembers me: http://forum.topeleven.com/formation...1-2-2-2-a.html
why does nobody use that formation?
Anyone used (or uses) Tokens to reduce the construction time for stadium upgrade? Personally, I think its not worth it but at the same time it's a long wait to get it done :p
first SF match in the champions league:

sadly, my team only scored one goal when they should have scored at least 3. will go offensive and try to get that away goal next match, been a while since I played in the CL final lol.
Im a level 4 Manager currently #1 in league by 10 points, Although I have won my last 3 leagues, Ive never won a Cup or a CL
My season has gone in two different directions, after today's matches. First up was the first leg of my CL semi-final, away in Thailand.
Result: JARAY FC 1-3 LONDON CITY
Goals: Mueller 21, Baier 50, Mueller 55, Morgada 74
M.o.M: Mark Hughes (LC)
We can now go into the 2nd leg, with a comfortable lead, and knowing that our opponents would need to score a minimum of 3 goals at our place, to have a chance. Rudolph Mueller scored the only goal of the first half. JFC equalised through Baier, just after the restart, but Mueller again put us a goal ahead again, shortly afterwards. Hector Morgada added a third for us with just over 15 minutes left, to leave us with one foot in the final.
Today's second match, in Papua New Guinea, was a bitter disappointment. We needed a win to keep us in with a realistic chance of the league title.
Result: TONGFANG UNITED 1-1 LONDON CITY
Goals: Zola 82, Martins 90
M.o.M: Maio (Tong)
A win would have guaranteed us a place in next season's CL, and a win by 2 goals or more, would have put us up to 2nd position. In the end, neither happened. We were frustrated for 80 minutes, until Adam Zola finally broke the deadlock for us, but we couldn't hold on, and Martins forced an equaliser in stoppage time. It was so disappointing, as we'd already beaten our opponents on three occassions already this season. The result means we are now 5 points adrift of the leaders, with just the five games left.

A match which has gone as we predicted, and yet left some bitter taste in our mouths. We were ready, strong, and going for the kill using our home match to seal the final: every player knew his role, everyone was focused. We wanted blood, and we wanted it immediatly, to void the latest trend of scoring goals just in the late end of first half. We couldn't even imagine it'd go completely different!
Ready go, from the kickoff Coach Mad's eleven creates something hardly believable: Becker reaches the ball in the opponent's 3/4, direct pass it through the middle towards Hutton, which freezes the defense and the keeper, and let NT's stadium explode right at start! It's 1-0 (1'). New Team's Captain is in superb form, and ready to sink NapoliSalerno.
The everything happens in few flashes. A lost ball for NS, Hutton on it, a tackling from behind, and a painful scream: at minute 10 Hutton leaves the field seriously injured by a tackle which woulda have meant Red card but was a mere yellow. Burning with anger, New Team unleashes all of its power: Callaghan takes the free kick and draws a perfect ball for Diamond, who blasts away the defense for the 2-0 (10'). Coach Mad sends in Ulusoy, the young reserve ST; and, at minute 15, another tackle signs another injury: Ulusoy has to go out as soon as he entered. Danny Mellow enters the stage and sets a new 4-51 V offense orientated. Tom Becker seeks revenge for his comrade when he jumps two defenders before noticing even the DMC Goryushkin incoming, serving him the ball of the 3-0 (27'). Another hard tackle almost injuries Becker, serving Callaghan a perfect chanche which isn't missed: his free kick goes around the barrier and beats the unmoved keeper signing the 4-0 (30'). New Team is so fired up that even its defenders want to punish NapoliSalerno; Denver steal the ball and run on the line looking for a centre: NS players mark on Lenders is tight, but they can't prevent Harper (DR) to overlay on the other side, who gets served perfectly and heads the 5-0 in (37').
In the second half Coach Mad preserves his players health by lessening the offence and setting at midfield: New Team keeps dominating the ball possession and even creates 4 clear goal occasions for Lenders: the young striker seems now to fail EVERY SINGLE one on one situation since he achieved the 1on1 SA, tho. The match ends with first half's result and takes a huge toll over the final's access.
- Statistics -
Scorers: Oliver Hutton, Paul Diamond, Yurii Goryushkin, Philip Callaghan (FK), Harper.
MoM: Bob Denver (8), New Team.
Injuries:
- Oliver Hutton had to leave after 10 minutes, and reported a Ligament Lesion which will take him out for 6 days. Being out of treatments after the HUGE injury row, facts are in 2 days we will face both the second CL leg and the League match against Bakuretsu Storm; Coach Mad's plan is to recover him but keep him benched unless the situation calls for him.
- Stephen Ulusoy wll be out for two days, and luckily will recover for tomorrow.
July, what odds are we getting for July Fourth, Perfect Tactics, New Team and Harrogate Town to win there Champions Leagues next season?
The Joke Match of today.... Won but trolled by blocks

As for the second semifinal, i'm rather impressed by both score and statistics:

Is 4-1-4-1 a counter to 4-1-2-1-2? To me seems just a 4-4-2 with the extra DMC. Also those stats are quite sick. Less shoots, same possession (if you count the home match even less) and still 4-0. I feel the troll. He has a quite adaptable squad as well, might be not that easy to win if engine decides to troll me further:since i leveled Lender's 1on1 he scored once on 15-20 occasions. Worrysome.
Oh July or dv8r. When you do your pics and input the quality of each team how do you manage to do it?
CL semis 1st leg: Toshi FC - FC Kneipenkick 0-0
Toshis 4-4-2 and our 4-5-1 V-style neutralized themselves, Toshi even had better chances at the start.
In the second half we switched to 3W-2-3-1-1, but it stayed at 0-0.
