Selling players with expiring contracts

Hi amigos,

I have 3 players with expiring contracts that I don't wish to keep for next season. What is the timeframe to sell them at the start of the following season before they become free agents and leave?

Once the contracts have expired then you can't sell them, as they are technically free agents once the contract expires at this season end. You then have 7(?) days to re-sign them or they leave. If you don't want them but want to get money for them then sell them now...

For players with expiring contracts and I no longer need, at low levels, I might try to sell before season end because of higher market values. At higher levels, drops in market value in new season are small, I always wait until new season to sell because more managers eager to buy new players.
