Palace Casuals followed on from their Cup defeat yesterday with a Nordeus-induced 1-2 home defeat in the League, to 3rd place. One of the 'no matter what you do you're still gonna lose' matches. Maarten Wiegman scored the consolation goal late in the second half, 5-day injury inflicted on Massimiliano Gerini. So still no 'undefeated season' award for Casuals.

Draw 1: Home League match, 0-0. I snoozed the game time and later found out that the dispirited squad elected to phone it in. GK Dudic's clean sheet earned him the Assistant Manager's mention, but was not good enough for MOM, which went to the other team. Nothing else to say about this poor effort other than this: both non-wins (a loss and now a draw) happened when I was not watching the live match.
Win 29: Home CL match, 2-1 (p. 3-2). We got a real wake-up call in this 1/8F tie against a weaker opponent. First, we lost the away leg 1-2 due in a large part to the manager's partying too hard and failing to stay up. Then we were forced to take the field in the return match with "only" the 8% training bonus across the board, the game time being too close to the daily reset and with not enough time to run the drills and recuperate. Too proud to ask for advice in the forums, and not finding fault with my original game plan, I did not make any adjustments to the 4-5-1V formation playing against an off-kilter 4-4-2 with the MR promoted to AMR, which had gotten the best of us the first time around. The opposition scored early from a CK, but we were not going to panic and alter the game plan. AMR Willemse responded 10 minutes later, but the unacceptable tied score held for the rest of the first half and well into the second, when we replaced the DMC with a fresh MC, and swapped a tired MC for an extra ST. Finally, attacking hard and pressing high, DL Akwaffo scored the 73rd minute from the CK served up by GK Dudic, whom we have been trying in this role based on the positive experience by a certain manager know to us. Unfortunately, this was only good enough for overtime. Pressing high, playing man-to-man defense and not expecting to go the distance, we actually saw several players run on fumes toward the end. And so it was down to PKs. Both our 1st and 2nd PK takers missed, so it had to come to Dudic's heroics, who stopped three shots, and the rest of the lineup, including Dudic himself, finding the back of the net. Mugged by his teammates, Dudic had every reason to expect being named MOM, but his assist, PK goal and solid 120 minute performance were not enough, and the honors went to the oft overlooked Israeli DR Asulin, a late addition to the squad, who was solid at the back and earned the same 8.8 rating as Dudic. (Later in a private meeting in the president's office, the star goalkeeper was assured that his contributions were greatly appreciated.) We are now matched in the QF against a league rival, whom we had beaten handily 2-0 in week 2 of league play, and who currently occupies number 5 spot.
Win 30: Away League match: 2-1. Through an alleged mixup at the front office (a discreet embezzlement investigation is underway), the squad were not offered a win bonus for this match, and their enthusiasm on the field may have suffered as a result. Though we quickly built a 2:0 lead (ST Kara assisted from a FK and ST Monasterski scored on an individual dribbling effort, trying to make the recent dry spell fade into the memory), the opposition repeatedly found their way towards our penalty area and only GK Dudic's stellar play kept their goal production to a minimum. Still, we had to spend most of the game playing with the uncomfortable 2-1 lead, concentrating on possession. The assistant manager repeatedly questioned the boss' decision to go with the offensive 4-2-2-2 Hexagon configuration against the 3-5-2 formation, but the manager pointed to the 4-1 success in the first meeting between the teams, when the same formations were used. Thus securing an unconvincing win, and getting word of the tenacious 2nd place rival being held to a draw, we restored an unassailable -- for the time being -- 8 point lead. One positive that we should take away from this outing is the fact that the opposition's ST, a league leading scorer, was kept off the sheet -- despite repeatedly threatening Martin Dudic, who just happens to be known as a one-on-one stopper.
Day 18 - Palace Terriers Cup report.
Palace Terriers had an away 2nd Leg of their Cup Quarter-Final, kick-off 05:13GMT, defending a 2-1 lead from the 1st Leg, but the Management decided to stay snug and warm in his bed and let the team get on with it. Goals from Alessio Doratiotto, Nikolay Radev and Lukasz Sapela propelled Terriers to a 3-0 win and qualification for the Semi-Finals with an aggregate score of 5-1. Terriers are still looking for a reliable penalty kick taker, Radev failing from the spot for the second time in recent matches.

Day 18 - Palace Casuals Cup report.
Palace Casuals travelled away to their Cup Quarter-Final 2nd Leg with the task of overcoming a 1-3 deficit from their poor performance in the home 1st Leg. The team turned in a totally different performance, a brace from Maarten Wiegman and one from new boy Nikolay Levterov saw Casuals into half-time 3-1 up and level on aggregate and away goals scored. The second half became a war of attrition as both sides tried to get a winning goal, without exposing themselves too much at the back that they conceded one. The match looked like heading for extra-time when Andre Faisca was handed a free-kick on the right, which he pitched into the right place in the box, where defender Mihai Campean was on hand to head into the net for a last minute winning goal. Palace Casuals win 4-1, and progress to the Semi-Finals 5-4 on aggregate.

Day 18 - Palace Terriers League report.
Palace Terriers braced themselves for the visit of the League leaders, with their 100% record and 2.2Q advantage in starting XI Quality.
Attachment 64396
The Terriers unbeaten run continues, but their record-breaking 19 match consecutive win streak has ended, as the match ended a 1-1 draw. Samir Gross scored (Terriers 100th in all competitions this season) in the first half to send the Terriers supporters into raptures, but the visitors pulled one back early in the second half. Terriers fought hard for a winner, but the visitors 'keeper pulled off a string of saves, to keep the home side out and deservedly won the MoM award.

Just played the first leg of the CL, an away match versus a slightly weaker team.
I managed to get a 0-3 win, my new striker managed to score a goal! Later today i have my competition game, atm I'm still in first place. My goal was to qualify for the champions league so I'm doing pretty good :)
Golden eaglets won away in the champions league with a 2-3 win was pretty close, Rogerio Ceni scored the first goal from a fk after 3games drought. Flying eagles continue to fly with another 0-3 win.
One foot in semis

The two users fought until knockout round 15; 16 tokens for a relatively old, slow training GK.
By the way, the auction market seemed strange in the past days; there was a lack of good nordgens, nordgens appearing relatively late on some days, and a general decrease in activity (both bidding and selling of 4-5 star players).
There seems to be two different types of Nordgens - those that appear early in the morning that are young, expensive fast trainers, and those that appear at various times in the day, seemingly to fill up a stagnating Transfer Market. The latter are 5*, have varying Quality, any age, may be dual role or have a relevant SA (eg DC with Aerial Defender, not Free-kick or Penalty taker). Not being awake enough for the former, I have taken to signing a couple of the latter (usually for 1T-3T depending on interest from other managers) on occasion to fatten up the team with a useful Quality player that will last a couple of seasons and then be sold on.
Day 19 - Palace teams report.
The Cup Semi-Finals Draws for both teams have been finalised:

Palace Terriers were first onto the pitch today, away in the League to 7th place, and they recorded a well-taken 4-0 win to consolidate their hold on 2nd place. Onder Chamoun got the show on the road with a direct free-kick after only 3 minutes, but pickings were lean thereafter until Samir Gross ran onto a Nikolay Radev pass into space and beat the 'keeper in the 65th minute. Radev then went on to add a couple of goals himself.
Attachment 64416
Palace Casuals were at home in the League against 8th place, and had to overcome a stubborn opponent early on, but eventually triumphed 5-0. Andre Faisca and Maarten Wiegman put the hosts 2-0 up by the break, and then Angelo Musto added to his two first-half assists with a hat-trick in the second-half. After the other results came in, Casuals can now enjoy a 9 point lead at the top of the table as 2nd place lost and the other sides in the top 5 played catch-up to them.
Attachment 64418
Palace Terriers finished the day's action at lunchtime with a Champions League Quarter-Final match against a friend manager, and, barring an absolute disaster in the 2nd Leg, look like seeing a bit of Semi-Final action this season. Having to counter their usual 4-5-1V with 3N-2(DML/R)-3N-2, the Terriers made possession the order of the day, Sergi Hernandez and Samir Gross (2) capitalising on the patient build-up with the goals in a 3-0 win, but Terriers had another player injured as midfielder Lukasz Sapela found himself in the Treatment Room.

Easy win today.
Tomorrow there is a big game coming. The game will decide whether me or the number 2 will get the lead in the competition. I'm a bit worried because he has a better team then me
Three (2 CH.L.) games about the same time :p
Of course I used the old version as with the new it's impossible to have 3 browsers open at the same time.
I won but nothing secure for the qualification.

I do have someone at 10 league goals. Maybe I can fill up the list.
Todays game will kinda decide who is going to be the champion.
I'm kinda having a real keeper issue. I have a 3star and a 4star keeper. Neither of them are performing that good on goal.
Should I wait on the auction list for a good goalkeeper or should I try to get one with negotiations?
Crazy match. Keeper stepped up at the end

Day 20 - Palace Terriers report.
Palace Terriers travelled away to 11th place, and strolled to a 3-0 win. 3* right-winger Declan McGranaghan showed he could still keep up at this level with an assist for the first goal scored by Samir Gross, and a goal for himself. Usually a bench-warmer, central midfielder Christophe Ouahbi was handed a rare start and showed he could still contribute by running away with the ball for a brilliant solo goal for the third.
