Day 12 - Palace teams Cup report.

Both teams played their Cup 'Top-16' Round 1st Leg matches this morning.

Palace Casuals were away at an equal-rated Level 29 team, and having started with defensive/counter orders, found themselves 0-2 down at the break. The Management substituted a poorly-performing yellow-carded player at the break, and sent the team out to attack. Angelo Musto scored twice to give Casuals a draw and two away goals for the home Leg. Left-sided midfielder Felipe de Vasconcelas Leite made his 100th appearance in this match.

Palace Terriers Management set up the team for the home 1st Leg match and then saw the quality disparity between them and their Level 11 opponents, 94%/68.7 vs 103%/71.0:

So defensive/counter was the order of the day, and Onder Chamoun stunned the visitors with a first minute 30-yard thunderbolt, but the visitors equalised on 20 minutes. Declan McGranaghan repeated the dose to put the Terriers 2-1 up at the break, and when the Management decided that Samir Gross wasn't cutting it in this match and sent for a replacement, he confounded the powers that be by heading home a Brian Horne corner for 3-1. Liberal applications of defensive bonus saw the Terriers through to the final whistle for a well-deserved victory.
