Not likely. There are many situations where the GK got a rating of 7.5 or above, hence appearing as an 8 in his stats profile, despite not making any saves. In other words, even if the opponent played with no attackers and no midfielders or played everyone out of position, the GK would have got a 7.5 or above, that is for doing nothing significant. But, in another case, if the GK made some saves and conceded a goal (not his fault), he could get ratings a low as 5-6. There is likely to be something wrong in the GK rating system.
