Based on your experience...

This season, my 3rd, is very strange for my team in the League.

I'm going forward in cup, 3 teams eliminated, 2 from level 5.
In Champions I'm at 1st place in the group with 4/4 matches won.
The matches are going on, how to tell you.. as I expected: I easily win the weaker teams while the other matches are more challenging.

But in league there's no way to make good performance.
I'm facing very very weakest teams (my average skill level is 32 vs a range of 19-24) and my team keep on conceding a lot of goals though my defence includes only 5* and 6* players with SA.

Today I lost 1-0 against a 21 points level team.
I had a good ball possession and 14 shots on goal but my attack (6*ST, 6*AML, 5* ST and 5*AMR) has not been able to beat his 3* GK.

I know that no one can answer, perhaps even nordeus. :rolleyes:
It is just to know if anybody else is gone through a bad season, no matter what you do.

Yes it happens to me too (in my 2nd account), for some reason I struggle in my league even though I have a superior team. But you seem to have a much bigger problem, I don't have so much difference from my opponents..

For me it´s like this...

League: Very good
CL: Good
CUP: No comment

im so far the best team on the league and im 8 points behind the first one, i dunno why.. i lose points against the crap team and he has 100% wins, just unbeliavable

this is my league's table after 9 matches:

1 team - avg 21,8 - 24 pts
2 team - avg 23,6 - 22 pts
3 team - avg 22,2 - 22 pts
4 team - avg 17,6 - 19 pts (great :D)
5 team - avg 34,4 - 17 pts MY TEAM

Today I will face the 1st team.

20 quality and up is good team bro! Also it's the luck of drawing fixtures. You need to string in series of wins and it's like rolling down hill. But if you meet tough opponents every few games then a draw is enough to halt the momentum.

i think it has to do with the game-engine change that Nordeus so sobviously implemented during the latter part of last season. Upsets (inferior teams beating, sometimes easily, superior teams) have become the norm almost.

I win all my tough games pretty easily, i.e. against teams that are almost as good as mine. But every time I face teams much weaker than mine , my players can hardly score a goal nor defend. Most of the times it's against bot teams as well.

I'm thinking about buying a reserve squad of low level players just for those games as it would give me a higher chance to win those games I think.

that's all true mates ;)
maybe I'll climb the table day by day and, of course, loosing/drawin against weakest formations can happen

what is strange is that happen just in the league

for example, yesterday I had two matches against two very similar teams (20.8* and 20.2* avg), both away from home: in champions I won 4-0 (the manager was watching the game) while in league I lost 0-1...

anyway, let's prepare my boys for the incoming big match :o

What i noticed and experienced is that while you got the best team by many bits, you shouldn't underesimate tactics and formations. You might be very offensive (you said you use 2 ST and 2 AM's) and with red arrows your STs teoretically become 4. If you also use a attacking mentality then you might be very unbalanced with your team disposition. Unbalances provides (in real soccer) lots of spaces between the 2 lines (defense-MId, mid-attack). That means that when facing narrow formations (4-1-2-1-2, 4-1-2-2-1, V styles) the players in the narrowed side are practically free in the loot of free space your unbalance creates.

Even if you are superior in quality, try to change your tactics and adapt to counter your opponent's ones. Leaving it to a superior firepower might backfire. Say i use 3-5-2 flat with 10 more Q, if the opponents counters me right and adds offside trap with fast defenders my firepower will be indeed lessened. But if i put an amc in play and negate the offside trap then the more Q my team has will undoubtely come out.
Try different formations adapting to your opponent's, i say.

Ofc, you might be doing this already and just totally be unlucky in league. gl :P

EDIT: if your league's teams are active, they might go full defensive against you due your superior quality. That's why it can become hard to score. If that's so, try a more defensive approach because you might be losing to counterattacks D:

I don't consider myself a "HQ manager" as many people is in this forum (es July, Adel and many others).
For this reason, while doing experience, if I face a very weak team I place on the field the formation I like more (ex. 4-4-2 narrow diamond) otherwise I use the adviced counter-formations.

If the table of counter formation doesn't help me, I always try to counter the other team starting from his formation.

For example, in few hours I'll play the cup's 1/8 first leg at home against a 3N-1-3W-3, my avg quality is 32.3, his is 27.3
What I'm going to do is (mmm...I hope my opponent is not on the forum :rolleyes:) to use a 3-2-2-2-1 formation:
- 3 DCs to counter his 3 ST
- 2 DMR/L to counter his ML/R
- 2 MC against his only MC
- 2 AMR/L to attack him on the flanks without DR/L and leave his DMC alone
- 2 ST

I'll note place arrows while orders will be:
Mentality: defensive with hard tackling as I don't want to concede goals at home
Passing: mixed, through both flanks
Pressing: my half with counterattack

That's how I manage most of my matches.
It works in cup and champions but is completely useless in league

In the second half, on 1-2, I changed the MC by a AMR 6*39 shadow striker.
He scored a further gol.

Few hours later, in champions, I won 4-1 a stronger (24.9 avg).

Now I'm pretty sure that I'm not supposed to win any league this season.

I had 3d and 1 loss so far in league versus ****ty teams and i think it's still nothing compared what happened to you... I understand you... I'm pretty sure some season the game doesn't allow good teams to win

Happens to me every year.

Always have the best quality team and havent won the league in 4 seasons. I last night lost at home to the guy who is top. I have lost home and away against the same team even though I am higher quality.

Nordeus havent basically got a clue about how football really works. I had an extra midfielder so I had 4 and he had 3 an extra player at the back, but he still had more possession and basically seemed to just walk through my defence as if it wasnt there.

No point telling Noredus, there customer support team are a waste of space.

Get used to it mate, what ever you do dont waste loads of money on scouted players etc, doesnt make a blind piece of difference.

I'm not just complaining about the defeats.
I don't pretend to win every match where my team is the best.

I just want to confirm the sensation I expressed at the beginning of the thread.
In Cup and Champions I can win, draw or lose with everyone but all the matchs are coherent with the contest.

In league simply not.
I keep on loosing\drawing with teams which are 12-15 avg points less, without a manager.
In the meantime, the first 2 teams in table keep on winning every match very easily though they both have more than 10 avg points less than me.

Today I'm going to try something new (also because of the cup match starting 5 minutes later): my line up will be made just by benchwarmers, so my avg will be just 3-4 points higher than its.

Let see what happen..

for me i notice when i renew my team the players need time to be in harmony!!!

this is wierd beqz its a game depend on numbers but this what happen to me until now iam in the 3 rd level and iam the first and finish first 2nd league but always need time after i buy new players for my team to take his best shape
iam dreaming or understand wrong ?!!

try to make good plan make palance etween deffence and attack
for me i have good team and i still play usually 4141 and it works with me perfect!!!

Mine was a strange one last season, as I only lost 2 games (least in the league, but drew almost as many games as I won despite the average team gap.

This season so far I went out of the cup fairly to a team that, at the time, was on equal footing with me (two draws, but lost on away goals). My only league loss so far was against a team that I battered but just couldn't score. Yet I drew 2-2 away to a team that is predominently scout bought and that was after I went 2-0 up. Also beat and drew to the same team last season.

Seems all about the luck of the game at times.

Ummmm, I was of the opinion that 3-5-2 Vstyle is a more effective counter for 4-1-4-1. I have tried both 3W-4-3 and found the 3-5-2 produced better results. try that next time.
