Tips for buying a lone striker

So as season ends, i am thinking about my next formation and new players. I was using 4-5-1 v this season and thinking to use the same for next, but my Aml is old now so i will be selling him, and moving my current ST to AML position, because he can play both. My current striker did ok this season, nothing spectacular, hopefully hell do better at AML position. I have an awesome AMR player so he will stay, and need to get that lone striker who will score. What kind of skills should i look for in my purchase? Since ill be using two wingers, and a lot of passes will come at crosses into the box, i am thinking to get someone with huge heading skill and strength to battle it out in the box. (Someone like Lewandowski) So question is, is that skill set would be better than lets say very fast ST for my formation. Thanks.

that's too general as you didn't gave any info about your team or your targets.
So,
If you have a lot of greens, buy a young fast trainer, give him also AML or AMR position, maybe a sa too and make a rotation with your other ST- winger.
If you don't have many sources, buy a simple ST with not the higher quality.
For example, if your 6* players have 35 quality, buy a 26-29 y.o. player, with 33 quality , so at the end of the season he 'll be 34 q and you can sell him at the end or the beginning of the new season easily.
(a simple 35q player cannot be sold easily).
Don't go for sa cause this attracts many bidders.
If you find someone with good stats (2 goals in 3 games) go for him.

For a lone striker, I find that stronger players with better heading and passing do better. I don't need them to score tons of goals, if they get 10 in the League I am happy. However, they help with keeping possession and giving my wingers (who score most of my goals) more chances.

Height over 185, high levels in strength, passing++, finishing++, shooting+, dribbling+, creativity, positioning, heading.

Height and weight are random characteristics and have nothing to do with the player's efficiency.

Strikers that score over 70% are rare to find in the market. Just do as nikolgiorgos say and search for a striker judging from its stats. Buying a fast trainer does not guarantee itself that he will be playing well. Generally strikers do not "strike" that much in this game. Either way, you can buy a striker from the proposed ones that cost only tokens, preferably the youngest one, and he will be scoring as hell!

Υes, skills of players are cosmetics.
Don't try to find characteristics.
@ cmasaoutis is also a friend of my team NIK and can see that m best scorer Ronald has Passing the highest attacking skill and Fitness the first M&P skill.

Well i use flanks, mixed passing, i have very good dmc/mc player. Won the league and got CL title, but its only season 2, i am sure it will get tougher. I have a lot of cash to spend on players, i have been waiting for new season to start. So you saying better go with someone who has high speed rather than heading? What can u say about players that my assistant recommends? Those 3 players that sometimes pop up for decreased tokens and paid off cash, are they good buys or never buy them?

Can u also tell me how can i spot a norgen player? Thanks

18 years old....with a very high value ..... (or sometime 19 or 20 or maybe older (but I won't buy those older than 20 LOL)....the more you explorer, you will know better...)

at level 2, the 5* young fast trainers have 3,5-4 M' Value and you gonna need about 80-100 greens for someone to reach 7*.
So, it's an expensive hobby and you need extra sources (buying some T and farming greens).
But if you think that you buy a player Corner specialist who 'll take corners and your 6* ST with high positioning, heading, finishing skills will score a lot, you 're playing the wrong game.
Things are very different in this game.
Before you spend some real money or get disappointed and leave (as many other who post their "last" thread before goodbye), read a lot of the threads of this forum.

Why do i need greens for player to reach 7* dont they develop on their own by playing/training? Ok so i am season 3 now, and the only high value 18 and 19 year olds i see are those with 3 star quality and they cost about 2 mill, which is high for their quality, and their club name starts with A.C., thats it? I dont wanna buy 3* player even if he might be fast trainer.

They do develop by their own by normal training but that's not enough because they will never reach their full potential and they will be pretty much like your normal players. So if you don't buy tokens I suggest that you buy 2 of them every season and power train them using the games greens by farming. There are many threads about that in this forum. Till then you have lost the period that these players are plenty because this is very early in the morning of every first day of a new season. They appear though in the middle of it but more rarely.

at lv3 it's 5-6 M' but now it's too late.
the right time it's about 4-5.00 GMT.
Gaining from games (if playing two in a day) is much better than other players but not enough to reach 7*.
You need extra training too.

Oh i get what u saying now. Yea i was in game right after maintenance, and didnt see any 5 or 6 mill players at all, only expensive 3* quality for like 2 mill. Ok ill keep an eye on it.

A bit OT, but have anyone had a ST with the dribbler SA? (naturally with another position enabling him to have it)

I have a very good MC with the dribbler ability, but like a MC never really dribbles with the ball. Wingers dribbles with the ball before making a crossing, but they always succeed with it it seems anyway. But strikers sometimes gets through but often are broken up, would be interesting if one of them got a huge boost from dribbling.

I have also seen extremely ambitious players use a striker with the Area Defense special ability. Does that really work?

I think that the dribbling ability has more to do with gaining more ball possession in the middle of the pitch rather than visualization of individual efforts dribbling passed the defender.

Interesting! Could definitely be the case. How did you think of that? ;)

Because of two things.
First of all nobody has ever seen the dribbling indication during a match.
Secondly, because wep mostly see that ability on Mcs or rarely on ams.

Although, we have seen strikers dribbling past a defender ending in a man-to-man with the goalkeeper.
So, you can experiment with that and add dribbling ability to one young fast trainer that ALREADY scores goal that way and see if the indication lights up. If not then I suppose it is the gaining possession thing and not some crazy Hazard dribbling moves!!! 😉

Alright so i got 4 mill 19 year old just now, for only 2 tokens hehe. So now i just use green condition packs to extra train him, or i have to use power trainer for redicolous amount of tokens? Also which training schedule should i use for my dc?

Sorry..... You go to training and make a hard programm for your DC involving the most difficult and effective sessions. Be careful use mostly those sessions that improve his highlighted abilities, for example not offensive abilities.

You should farm rest packs (watch videos), you should be able to get up to 35 per day. Then you use all of them on your young fast trainers just training them again and again. I prefer to mix up the practices I use a bit.

Is there a thread where it's discussed which SA indications people have seen in the game? I am considering to start one because this is puzzling.

It's nothing compared to others, but I've played a total of 4 seasons and more or less watched all games -- at least 120 games -- and I've seen the play-making sign once and the shadow striker sign once (I've basically had 1-3 players with each SA on the field all games). This really puzzles me, like I had two players with the Shadow-Striker ability that were doing great and I though great that SA works. Then after like 50 games I all of a sudden see the sign above one of them when he scores on a long shot (I actually got that one on recorded lol), was that the first time it was in effect?? Odd.

I've never seen the dribbler sign and I've never seen the one on one finisher sign. Have anyone seen the aerial defender sign on an attacking striker?

no, those two are invisible so far.
Aerial defender it's only for defense (Corner kicks).
It's useless for attack.
