Just had the cup finale. And it was again the best episode of GOALIES GONE WILD!!!!! Nordeus hates me apparantly or the RNG is not on my side this season. Game starts and things are looking good. First animations are for the advisary but no harm done. Both teams get green ratings, so both teams are performing well. Half way I check 9 shots and 5 on target and 5 saves by his goalie. He 5 shots and 2 on target. Ok, I am stronger that is good.
50 minutes, nothing. 60 minutes, nothing. 70 minutes, nothing. 80 minutes, nothing. I check the stats. I had 19 shots and 9 on target. And guess what, his goalie made 9!!!! saves. Arghhhhh. If the game ties then I am done for. His goalie will get all balls. 85 minutes, he is at 10 shots and 3 on target. 83th minute, nothing. 84th minute, nothing. 85th minute, some text. WHAM score!!!!!! Wtf? We get 12 animations with nothing and the only goal that happens is in text???? Nordeus, this is the freaking finale. Is the cameraman sleeping? Wait, wait, wait, who scored????? I DID!!!! Woohooo, in your face goalie. You fought valiantly but the fourth cup title in a row is a fact.
This is just madness. After winning 1 cup title in over 40 seasons (2 teams combined) I now win 4 in a row? Who cares. YEAHHHHAAAAA!!!!!

Bad Day! Lost cup final 0-1. The bid for our 6th treble comes to an end in the cup final. Little surprised by the loss, since we statistically dominated the match but couldn't find a goal. But that's life in futbol, oh well... Ended up conceding off a Free-Kick.
League was a loss as well, but I rested my starters for the cup final, since my opponent moved the match to 3 hours before my cup match. However, I really don't care about the league this season, since the team is still atop the table by 9 points.

There was electricity in the air as Dragonflight FC took the field against Besiktas for the Cup Final Today. Coming in clear underdogs to a higher level club with 26% quality advantage, the manager knew that there was no room for error. Choosing a overloaded butterfly, 3n2w22(AML/C)1, the plan was to overload a flank and press high against the dangerous offensive 4231 of Besiktas. This was to take advantage of the Besiktas defenders' lack of offensive flair.
With all bonuses at 10% and 20 packs spent in preparation, the match started in Dragonflight's favour. With two early chances from Goldstein and Neymar. Tragedy occurred as Dragonflight lost its highest rated player of the season in the 7th minute. Miranda was down with no chance of returning. Flares were lit in the away stands as supporters went rabid for vengeance. As Miranda was being stretched off, Hoofdaddy motioned to the captain and defenders to remain calm and continue playing a clean match.
Besiktas took their 2nd booking 14 minutes later, resulting in a near miss from a Fk. Sprich had entered the game to replace Miranda and a shift was made to attack the middle in a 3n2212. After a possession bonus was initiated, Dragonflight FC received its first card from RWB Sequiera, resulting in a near miss from a FK. More supporters were filling out the stadia dressed in white gold and green as the opposing club's manager had yet to emerge from the tunnel.
Post HT, much of the same with DFC controlling the ball in the offensive zone but being stymied time after time by the central defence of Besiktas. Disaster in the 62nd, as Salku took yellow and Besiktas scored from the resulting DFK. This was exactly what the manager had wanted to avoid by cautioning his side to tackle smartly but the damage was done: 1-0 Besiktas.
With less than half an hour left and down a goal, changes were needed. After an injury to one of the Besiktas STs on a seemingly innocuous play, club top scorer Klasnic entered the match, replacing, Salku at the 72nd minute as their opponents replaced their injured player. Klasnic strode onto the pitch, dripping in confidence and the lads all received a boost in confidence. After missed FKs from Neymar Jr. and young MC Gonzalez, Sprich was designated as the FK taker for all remaining kicks, should anymore opportunities arise.
*WHISTLE*, Besiktas ST Diaz commits his 2nd bookable offense in the 76th! Double yellow and an early trip to the locker room! Dragonflight supporters erupt. Surely an equalizer is in the cards! Anxiety and nerves permeate the stadia as the Besiktas team looks visbily shaken but committed.
In the 82minute, there isn't much time left to spare. The DFC manager motions and yells for all of his players to commit forward upon possession! Surely one of them can do it.
*Whistle* A foul on Goldstein after a clever turn in the middle of the pitch, yards outside the box. Eyes turn to the match clock, 89:32, 89:33, each second is an eternity! Klasnic has a word with Sprich and lines up over the ball opposite him. His eyes glaze over as he begins his run up to the dead ball. Contact!
The inswinging right footed shot swerves around the wall and lands just inside the right post. Pandemonium from the stands as the supporters start singing his name! The manager runs down the touch line pointing to the centre, reminding his side that they haven' won yet!
Full Time expires soon after, 1-1.
Defensive captain Campo complains of a nagging thigh injury picked up late in the match and is replaces by Neubauer as extra time commences. The momentum is fully with Dragonflight as the neutral supporters are seen cheering as they control the match in the offensive third.
Gonzalez is first to respond with a long shot that caroms off the post! Soon after, Klasnic does the same on the opposite. Inches from glory!
The high pressing attack has taken its toll as play gets sloppy in the 2nd half of extra time. Not many clearcut opportunities as the manager begins planning his penalty takers. With no subs available, he has some difficult decisions to make as Klasnic has missed his last 2 PKs in league play and Gk Gala failed to save during last year's cup QF penalty loss.
Besiktas is first to take: AMR Arrieta takes a long run up, and deposits a low shot right. Gala hasn't moved.
Up first for DFC, Gonzalez, the youngest player on the squad, takes a left footed stance over the ball, short run up and... hooks the ball wide right. Hands over his face in despair. Shouts are heard criticzing the managers decision to allow him to take first penalty. Hoofdaddy stands stoic, fighting off the demons of doubt and hoping that he hasn't made a critical error.
P2: Side Right, Gala still hasn't moved.
P2: Sprich steps up, surveys the crowd and sends the keeper left while passing it in to the right side with with right foot.
P3:Top Corner Right, Gala, still frozen, had no chance. Are his nerves cracking or is he planning something?
P3: Klasnic- Quick shot low left off the post and in. Pumps his fist as he surveys the upcoming shooters.
P4: The man who got them here, FK specialist Adegoroye steps up and delivers a right footed inswinger to the bottom right and... SAVED! Gala makes a heroic dive and the shot was too far inside the post. 3-2!
P4: Goldstein lines up to take his left footed, and cannons a shot top right corner! What a penalty, Besiktas GK didn't even move! 3-3!
P5 Low left shot from a right footer, and SAVE by Gala! He jumps up cheering as the Dragonflight FC bench explodes! The cup is one goal away now!
P5:All eyes on ST Neymar Jr. who hasn't taken a penalty all season, the manager knows from watching him in training that he has the shooting skill but can he finish under such pressure. He lines up directly over the ball, not giving a clue as to which foot. A long slow run up, stutter, and a left footed strike! Bottom right!
GOAL! Dragonflight FC!
Cup won on penalties 3-4! Thanks for reading and thanks to all spectators from here that made this possible! Most exciting match I've ever played!
