There are a lot of teams here that utilize at min 14 players only, so I wanna know how you operate them, especially when one of your main players gets injured during the match?

Now I wanna know what can you do when your player's red carded and your club is aiming for easier cup draws by having free youth players in your club?
Gathering players with two roles is definitely doable. The ones with three roles... if you happen on them in the Auction, that would be quite a battle hah.
The types of players that your Club requires depends quite a lot on the formations you feel comfortable with using. I've personally have been running with the same squad (minor change in the line up ever season when it comes to transfers) since april. Took me some auction sniping and getting up at inhuman hours to find great players but... damn am I proud of the team I was able to gather! They are getting old now though... sigh I'll have to start looking for new stars. T_T
But we've had a great run! ^_^
Anyway, playing your team with around 14 players is definitely doable and nothing out of the ordinary AND gathering players with 2 roles is not that hard. At least with me, since I don't use too many different formations, 2 roles is quite adequate. :)
@CM-16
you can see my roster as our teams are friends.
I have 11 + 4 players (the other are 1* players I don't use)
Yes, fast trainers with triple roles is the answer.
Or also if you stay in the same level one season, without spending much.
Usually I 'm selling some of these players at the end of the season, after my CH.L. and Cup finals and some managers buy them with 1-2 token.
* this season I 'm gonna sell Lucio (DC-DMC-MC), Rafael (DL-DC-DR), D. Alves (DL-DC-DMC) after my S.L. final
Actually I'm not asking for that one, Nik, coz your team's more than 14 players...
If you have a team of 14 players only and your main stars gets red carded what can you do?
Well I guess I am one of them. I usually only have 2 subs at the same level as my main 11 players because you don't need more. As a player who do not believe in counter tactics I only look for 11 players and 2,3 more players to build a team.
My team is pretty much always asymmetrical or if I build a classic formation, let's say 4-4-2, I get one sub who can play as a winger and usually a defender, depends on formation but having a least a player will 2 roles is great.
I prefer less players and invest more in them then to get 20 players.
Is true that you might need more red and green boosters to recover them but on another side there are some advantages.
1. Players grow more because basically you have 11 players who pretty much will play all your games.
2. Less money used.
3. Less tokens used.

I'm the opposite, I nearly always have a full 18 at the very least. This means less rests used when playing multiple competitions at once, and I find that players perform better if they are rested for a game occasionally. This also gives me good flexibility for managing my team. I don't usually run into issues with tokens, as the majority of my players I get off auction for 5 tokens or less, and with my Association at Silver 1, it's starting to pay for itself. Plus, it's very helpful for associations loans.
Sure, I sacrifice a bit in each player's individual quality. But there's a lot more than just quality that goes into the algorithm, and it allows me to have full managerial flexibility, so I like having enough for almost an entire second 11.
