It´s not a bug it is designed that way.

If you want to tank, aim for 14th spot not 9th! The forum in filled with story like yours.

Previous Season: League (11th), CL (Final), Cup (Last 16)
Yep, here's my team first day of the season to get a good Cup draw.
CF is Academy youth trained with green packs last 4 years
AML was bought yesterday and DC and AMR are Scouts from last season. (managed to get two amazingly enough due to a few lucky extra videos, be back to one this season)
Every other player is free Academy.
My CL draw looks quite hard, all high 5* teams in my group so that's gonna be tough, will find out how hard the league is tomorrow.
