I signed a low 5* academy grad for 14T today and wanted to boast about it but I couldnt because that thread got locked. I've been signing nearly all of my academy players lately as i believed that they were being coded better even if they were starting from a handicapped position quality wise. If we are paying 79T for recommended players surely 5-15T is nothing for a homegrown nordgen that we can sculpt from first signing.

Because those players are still crappy.
For 14 tokens, I would expect a player that is a few points at most from six stars.
Quality is deceptive, i have a 4* LB/CB that shuts down 6*s with ease, has scored a couple times too.
3 goals in 15 is pretty good, especially considering his position and Q on a 100Q starting 11. He's scored in associations too, have been both from set piece and a DC to DC combination. Some players just got it.

I still don't get why you should spend 14 tokens on a player from academy when for less on auction you can buy this one

The academy is only giving me 2 MC every time! I already have 5 MC in my squad, yet the academy keeps giving them to me :D
How does the engine work?
obv it thinks you need all the mcs. sell an average one and sign a 0T to lower your Q for next season
