Is a power trained player worth it?

Hi Trainers

I am currently at season 42 and was asking myself, if it would make a huge impact having an eight-nine star striker. Imagine a full 5* squad with one 9 star striker.
Would that striker win all the matches for me?

I am not sure what the key factor for a striker is. I observed that wing players tend to score more often than ST...
In my current season i have a 6* ST with 6* AML and 6* AMR. I am 1st in league and both of my wingers scored me 15 goals each so far.

Bruma=Aml Freekick specialist
Rodrigues=Amr Freekick specialist
Carole=Dml Corner specialist
Their stats are about 106 115 and 112.
There are also no peaks in pace and finishing... and yet they both are clinical scorers. My ST has about 6 goals so far... thus my observation from all those seasons seems legit -> Winger will score more than strikers. But what if the striker would be a 9* OP super star? Did anyone try power training a ST to the super star rating and was it worth it?

Share your experiences.

I never had a 9* player but when I 'm tanking some times, I have 7*, near 8* at the end of the season.
But many players of the team have such a quality so I don't know.
About F-K, foot doesn't matter.
More important is the high q of the player, the talent (internal programming), the form and some times the sa.

This is Maradona, kicking from all sides, very successfully.
Some times, he 's out of form and failing. So I put anther one for the next few games.

The latest games he 's out of form (scored 1 goal in 6 games even if played vs weaker defenders).
I tried him as ST and winger but nothing.
I hope he 'll be back soon :p

WOW Maradona has outstanding Goal/Game ration! My most scoring player was Doumbia and he had about 109 goals in his whole career in my club. Maradona has more than double! Tell me more about that internal programming.
But I think Maradona wouldn't be as successful if he only had ST as possible position.

no, that's not internal programming.
This is how we intervene to "make" a player.
internal programming/ talent/ hidden attributes is when we buy two attackers with the same characteristics and one is scoring while the other not.
When a player we have with no sa or low crossing skills, is more successful in corner kicks.

ok, let me tell you about that but first make a short briefing
RINOKEROS is my reserve team and I 'm not always competitive/active.
I 'm staying in the same season/level from time to time.
So with that way, Maradona lost some good/competitive seasons but I managed to keep him in high q without spending a fortune (as he is 27 y.o. now).
In the box, is the seasons I had him (from 18 y.o. , fast trainer, so I gave him extra role- ST and sa).

I use him in ll his 3 positions (depending of course from the formation I use in every game or the rotation of the team).
Many teams/managers have star players like Maradona, with good rate of goals/game.
A common way to do that, is to set your star as a F-K and penalty specialist.
With that way, he 's scoring a lot (specially if he has "talent"), has many goals per game (if you have a good team of course) and he 's earning many sp from MoM title.
Also he is for a long period in a good form/ high morale.
But there are also some "bad form" periods even for those players.

In this board it's the games of the weak, goals and assists, rate of the game.
Monday started good.
Tuesday too.
At Wednesday, Maradona came in a bad form period.
Also got injured.
I fixed him of course as he is a key player for my team but again in the evening game was in bad form.
Thursday morning was still in bad form but in the evening match, he got back to good performances.
Today, Friday, also had good performances.
So I hope he found his form again as I 'm gonna need him for the 2nd leg of CH.L. tomorrow or else I 'll be out :p
You can see that in ST position also had good performances and scoring like in AML position.

Like you, I also had my nonactive seasons... (started from Season 25 or so) Main reason was the new update of TE, where you had to train 4 sessions a day before a match. That was a deal-breaker for me, because all I did was: log in, send those 4 gifts back, check the formation from the upcoming opponent, set counter-formation plus motivation boost if there are yellow players and repeat.
With the update I now had to do more actions (klick) for the same purpose. I tried it a while, but it seemed like to much extra work and I skipped those training sessions and ended up losing, so I stopped playing it for a while. Now since 2 Seasons I am back and accept the fact, that I have to do 4-6 more extra actions.

After seeing what Maradona did for your team over those seasons, I think my team earns a proper legendary Player too. I will buy a ST player form the recommended list (or scout) with atleast 2 positions. ST AML or ST AMR + FK-SA and also watch out for age (and no weakfoot...)

My question is: Do you recommend powertraining or buy a special trainer for tokens and let the trainer do the skill points. And als do you recommend training in the old version of TE where you can manually apply skill points?

Special trainer is instant effect, but also crazy expensive. So if you have too many tokens go right ahead.

IMHO.! it is a waste of those valuable tokens, and I would never use Special Trainer :)

Special trainer is the worst deal of T11 as Gert saying. The only case for using him is if you have an old player (28-30 y.o.) were power-training has little effect to him and of course a LOT of token.
The best options for you are :
- A young fast trainer the first day of the season, after the daily maintenance with position ST or AM.
You 'll buy him, test him in old version training and if he gets over +100 invest to him.
Use him in F-K in a couple of friendlies or in the Cup game.
If he scores, give him F-K specialist and set him kicking all the F-K (and penalties too)
The talent at F-K is the key to be a star.
Make him ST- AM_
- An academy player, the expensive one. Also with the same procedure above
- A recommended player ST-AM_ , 19 y.o.

The rest depending from how many greens you have. I can farm daily 26-30 greens (- 2 for using the X2 training bonus), so with this amount I can keep a 6* team, early 7* at the end of the season.
With spare greens, you can do power training to your Star, so to have him 1* more 7*, early 8* at the end of the season.
An 8*-9* player among a 5* team can't help much.
The team could not create many chances for scoring, keep oppo away, blah blah
In a 6* team, I believe he can shine.
* It's not necessary to have a full team of 18-20 players at 6*, only 10-11 the basic.

so you recommend me to use a player from my academy instead of a young 20-21 aged scout? I mean that scout is already pre equipped with a SA and also 6 close to 7 star rated...

Having a superman (or two) in a team of cripples won't help you much.

yes, the "good" years of a fast trainer are 18-21.
So if you buy a recommended 20-21 y.o., you already lost two.

Well, that's what I 'm talking about
a recommended player with 2 good positions, with (maybe) a useful sa for a scorer, young 19 y.o, fast trainer (very possible), and with a reasonable price of tokens.
