Lots of shots, low pass completion... he took advantage of your thin back line, 2st+1amc as central targets in the area, and acres of space in the flanks.
He's no more a troll than you are a token buyer, name calling doesn't make you better.
At what point did you decide not to change your formation, did any of your player's ratings ever go up?
Ps- does the old version not show multiple positions, or did were most of your defenders out of position?
Pps- looks like you should have played through the middle, too. 2dmc, mc, 3st... Who's supposed to focus passing on the flanks? Moving 2 of your defenders to support the attack... Ok.

Team overall quality DO have an influence on the game. To my opinion, this is actually the most important factor. But in this case, the difference is not big enough to allow you to feel over-confident. As mentioned, wingers play a crucial role in this game: never ever give them a free ticket to ride with your tactic !Quote:

Those DML and DMR mean that I shouldn't go through the flanks.
Well you are 6 stars + and he is 5 stars +, the difference between you and him is just 1 star or 1 star + not a huge difference like 3 stars for example.
Yet the difference on the result seems to be quite big which clearly can't please you. I do agree that sometimes is to much and this kind of result should not happen so often especially at the end of the season or in the finals .
I had a friendly rematch , no bonus for win and the same orders, both managers present ... guess what.. :) , this time was a home match but the result was different...

It's a common opinion that friendly out association games have different mechanics (I don't think so).
Consider in a friendly: less focus on pre match condition, less $ win bonus, more willing to try different strategies.
Everyone wants explanations, proofs. I just enjoy playing. Not that I enjoy losing, haha... Ever.
i lost my cup final 3-1 very dissappointing. i somehow hv the feeling i'm not gonna win when i see 2 of my best player suspended for the game.
Happen few time before if i hv my best player injuired or red carded in the first few minutes well you know its not going your way. Formation n tactic wont help either. If the system want you to lose you lose.

I conceded early and for the rest of the game I couldn't change the result, no matter what I did.
Changing strikers, formation, orders did nothing.
My players performed well, but just couldn't score.
Painful loss...I dropped from 2nd to 4th place, really not cool :/
Hello, I have no complaints about the game, my attackers are always top scorers and best league markers. This season to help the coaches I have made videos of all the games I do in the league and placed on youtube. I have 50 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat and I started the season with 4 and 5 star players. @Lemaniaque: My team looks almost the same but I have not bought a token over the last 30 seasons. Just save on green packs and train fast trainers.
Quality of the team is not the best indicator about the game. A gap of 30% is not that much. If you would have lost against a team with 50% or more then it would have been a proper troll result. Still, you would expect more shots from you. Tough luck and better luck next time.

You've got quite an odd selection of tactics. This isn't a tactics thread, but you've got an odd formation, you have counterattacks on but only one central mid to connect your attacking mids to your defensive mids, and your team mentality is defensive but you have four attacking players.
In addition, you have pressing at Low and marking as Man-to-Man, so you're not pressing your players very hard. Against weaker teams, if you press your opponent more, you're usually more likely to force them into mistakes.
At half I changed to offensive , high pressing, no counter, and received one more goal ...
Did you make any substitutions or change your formation? Either way, it seems like you did better after halftime than before.
I really like face up these team like this : Attack, all press,.. with all direction, all full star,... and i slowly counter :D
I have checked some games and I had cup matches that I lost 1-4 in home matches. Here I thought the cup was over only to win the away match with exactly the same setup and players with 0-5. Sometimes the engine is mind boggling. And sometimes it hurts like hell when you loose properly.
I observed the same thing, that was second leg, first I won 3-1 , but the engine put some stress over me :).
