Desert Rats FC played their League match of the day, and were up in front of a bigger crowd, as their latest stadium seating extension was completed overnight. Their visitors were the next-bottom team in the League, 32%Q poorer, and coming in off a run of 5 striaght defeats, and 13 matches without a win overall. Playing 4-4-1-1 countering 4-3N-2AMW-1, ML Unal Ozdemir and MR Emerson de Alencar Arraes were making their first appearances for a while, and were obviously raring to go, as they ruled the wings and posed all sorts of problems to the visitors defence. Ozdemir was the first to feature, in the 11th minute putting in a cross that Kostadin Marinov, playing AMC for the day, converted with ease. On the half-hour, with the defence concentrating on the marauding wingers, space appeared in the centre, and midfielder Mukhtar Hassan ran through it and shot into the corner of the net to increase the lead. A minute later, striker Jhon Micolta had a run at the defence and got through to the 'keeper, but instead of shooting, made a square pass for incoming right-back Cipriano Elizondo run onto and score. Ozdemir himself got onto the scoresheet three minutes before the break with a long range shot from the left touchline.
Three minutes into the second-half, and it was 5-0, Garry Crawford taking a free-kick outside the left side of the Penalty box and Marinov forced the ball home through a crowded six-yard box. Ten minutes later, and Micolta turned provider again, this time the recipient was Marinov, who fired home from just outside the box to complete his hat-trick. Then came three minutes of madness from the visitors. Two players with previous bookings both incurred the wrath of the referee and departed for the changing rooms, the two resulting free-kicks being converted by Crawford (direct) and Micolta, slotting home the loose ball after de Alencar Arraes' set-piece had been deflected off the defensive wall. After that, the Rats slowed down and played out time for a final 8-0 score, Ozdemir being awarded MoM in preference to the hat-trick scorer.

Desert Rats FC played their home 2nd Leg in the Champions League Quarter-Finals and played a lot better than in the 1st Leg, but were over-powered again by a Level 8 side with a certain something extra. The Rats were lined up in 3W-2DMC-2-2AMW-1 against their opponents 3N-4-2AMC-1 formation, and the 2DC pairing successfully constrained the visitors AMCs for nearly an hour. Going behind in the 15th minute to an ST/MC combination move, the home side defended tenaciously and countered quickly, but ran into a goalkeeper on top form, and couldn't make a telling breakthrough. Eventually the visitors' Quality told, and in the last half-hour the two AMCs helped themselves to a goal each and Desert Rats had to bow to the inevitable, losing 0-3 and exiting the Champions League on a 1-8 aggregate score.

Persebaya has been knocked out of everything this weekend.
Multiple defeats
CL Loss
Cup Loss
Top 3 in the League slipped away
This has been a terrible seaosn for Tim Bajul Ijo. BTW Looks like I'm going to deliberately ennter NML next season
Hakurei United meanwhile, has gone through to Semis and leading the league right now. It's at least more positive...

Only one match today for Desert Rats, and they visited 11th place in the League with a 32%Q advantage, and used it to good effect. Patrick Tillmanns scored a 4 minute double in the first half to give the visitors a half-time lead, and after midfielder Ireneusz Jezierski had netted early after the break, Tillmanns added another brace to make his personal tally 4 goals for the match. Desert Rats register another 5-0 win and keep up their lead at the top of the table. The AM obviously gave up counting at some stage, as his match summary merely noted that "Patrick Tillmanns was unstoppable."
