Day 9 - Double report.
Desert Rats FC celebrated their latest stadium seating extension by playing at home to the 13th place team in the League, and won 3-1. Julien Renard opened the scoring in the 15th minute, assisted by Patrick Tillmanns, who then went on to bag a brace himself. The team then went to sleep for most of the second-half, and it was not a surprise that the visitors pulled a goal back in the 65th minute. With the second place team falling to an unexpected draw against lower table opposition, the Rats now find themselves in 2nd place.
The reverse Champions League fixtures have started, and Desert Rats were away at the team they beat 5-0 on home turf two days ago. In this match, they went Nap again, but the home side were given a goal chance when Emerson de Alencar Arraes fouled on the edge of the box and the free-kick was dispatched past 'keeper Bismark Carroll with clinical efficiency. By then, however, the visitors were already three goals to the good, a double from Julien Renard and one by Garry Crawford doing the damage in the first-half. Crawford slotted home a free-kick himself two minutes after the home sides' effort when Emanuele Imbimbo was injured in a tackle, and Renard finished off a hat-trick with the final goal a couple of minutes from the final whistle, Desert Rats winning 5-1 and cementing their lead at the top of the Group after 2nd and 3rd shared out the wins in their two matches.
Another great day today for my squad and I say great because both matches I gave where against equal and active managers.
The day kicked off with a CL clash against the then second team of the group.
He was better in general, but my players with a "refuse to lose" mentality equalised twice with the latter being in the 88th minute.

My boys save the best for last though. In the home match against another slightly better in quality and active squad we found ourselves trailing 0-2 early in the first half. Changes by my side and lethal finishing gave us an emphatic 4-2 victory and kept us 3 points above the second of the League table.

At this point I think that the game gave you a robot and not just a striker.
Meet Dendy Sulistyawan, a Striker I created from a 5* Nordgen (after wasting around 40Ts. Please stop bidding wars, Nordeus!) that hopefully will play a great role in Hakurei United. (Real World Club : Bhayangkara FC)
Most recently he helped the team to go through the next round in the cup by scoring 2 goals :D

After a tight selection the team managed to pick two promising local boys, Candra Fandi (ML. Duh!) and Steven Haris (ST, 4*). Candra was played in the match against Borussia Dortmund, which ended in a dismal 0-0 draw despite big quality difference, before being transferred to another club, while Steven Haris is being considered as a probable replacement for the currently underperforming Shinji Okazaki
Meanwhile in the cup match, Persebaya managed a 2-0 win against JDT and will face makagawa fc in the next round

Wilmer Caicedo and Muji Huda successfully turned a 1-0 deficit into an important win that moved Hakurei United into 2nd place in the standings, behind the invincible Bali FC

Desert Rats FC played away at 5th place and set another improving mid-table team back, but seem to be in the worrying rut of doing just enough to win then sitting back. The visitors were three goals up by the end of the first quarter-hour, defender Garry Crawford netting a 30-yard screamer and a direct free-kick either side of a more conventional wingers double-act, the score from Kostadin Marinov, Patrick Tillmanns with the assist. The home side got on the scoresheet in the 57th minute, but despite heavy late pressure, the Rats' defence held firm and prevented further additions.
Thank you Nordeus for sending us outside the CUP :D must focus on league and CL from now.

After the troll result at 1.leg of the cup (2:2 at home), our opponent made an amazing 2.leg.
I just want to take no risk: full moral, full condition and max. win bonus. First half, his team played a bit better than us. Second half, I had to take some risk, because of the away-goal from 1.leg. Set DMC to AMC, subed a MC for a ST, high press. We took control, made some shots, but not a single one on the goal until 72'. At 78', I changed tactic to hard attacking, shouted from the side to attack. At 86', Costa made a perfect pass though the defenders and the AMC scored. Finally, we made at the last 12min more SoT than the whole game before.
So we were really lucky to go to quarter finals because of the 2.leg. But... that wouldn't have been necessary... :mad:
At league, Costa nets a hat trick, assisted two. :o
A Cup Quarter-Final beckons for the Desert Rats as they tidied up their Round of 16 tie with a 4-1 away win, to progress 7-1 on aggregate. Defender Garry Crawford started the ball rolling, forcing home the free ball after the defensive wall had done its job against an Emerson de Alencar Arraes free-kick, and the match was end-to-end from then onwards. The Management made a couple of substitutions just after the hour mark, and this spurred the Rats to higher efforts. Unal Ozdemir fed Ireneusz Jezierski a pass that the midfielder couldn't miss, Crawford converted a Penalty after a straight red card for the home side, then substitute Glenn Seynaeve volleyed home a cross from de Alencar Arraes before the hosts got a late consolation goal.

So.. a manager that put half the effort and half of the resources... ended up playing with me. Completely unfair.
I would accept getting same quality managers from the exact same level.

My teams are recovering from the disasterous start. Both teams went out of the cup in the first round and my main team was a bottom feeder in the competition after a loss and a tie. But I am back to second place, only one point behind the number 1 with the highest amount of scored goals. Take that guys. My second team won with big numbers from the number 1 and is in first place now with 1 point more and again the highest amount of goals.
Last game I had was almost a troll result. After 53 minutes I had 15 shots and 5 on target and my opponent had 4 shots. Next thing it is of course 1-0 for him. Thank god I scored twice in the remaining minutes. I had 23 shots with 8 on target against 8 shots with 2 on target. A win is a win I guess.
